Worst movie I have ever seen, but once I learned the background story, I just had to go back and watch it again! The story makes it so much more fun to watch! The Italian Director and his wife wanted to make a "serious" movie about the perils of vegetarianism because they were outraged that some of their friends had become vegetarians.Filmed in Utah, the crew speaks only broken English at best, the only one who speaks English is Laura Gemser, a former porn star, who was tasked with extremely low budget costume design. So, the dialogue was translated from Italian into broken English and the cast, mostly Mormons who had never acted, were commanded to say their lines as written, even though they offered to correct the English. This info is all over the Internet and on Wikipedia.

I would like to say, first and foremost, that this movie changed my life in ways I never thought possible. Not only was it the most blissful 95 minutes of my life, this film allowed me to find true happiness while also repairing my relationship with my estranged father. Anyways, this film combines the riveting plot lines of lesser films like the Godfather and Schindler's List with the acting excellence of Robert Downy Jr.'s performance in Tropic Thunder, but like with all the actors. The decision to title the movie "Troll 2" and proceed to not include a single troll in the entire film can be described as nothing short of pure genius. Also, the plot twist where all the townspeople turn out to be goblins was so unexpected that I was forced to question my own existence. The moral to the story, that "only meat or the power of goodness can vanquish these monsters," has only become more relevant in the 27 years since this movie's release. Finally, the closing scene, where the goblins inexplicably return from their defeat and brutally devour the mother while she is in the shower, is one of the most hauntingly beautiful cinematic sequences I have ever encountered. The obvious allegory to the challenges faced by oppressed minorities in modern Los Angeles is icing on the cake in my opinion. The fact this movie did not win every Oscar possible the year of its release is a travesty, and serves more as a statement on the current Hollywood establishment than anything.
