Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

This Horror Comedy courtesy of the BBC, stars Alex Pettyfer (Beastly) & the beautiful Tuppence Middleton as the head elites of a school bullying clique that begin getting taken out in various methods by a vengeful ghost. It starts out when a "forced sympathy" speech on the funeral of the teenage schoolmate Darren Mullet (Played incredibly eerie by Calvin Dean) that has just committed suicide but most don't recall who he was except his one friend who himself is also ostracized. The humor in this is quite of the dark & dry as the brits are famously known for. The deaths are a mirror of all the humiliations he was submitted throughout school & his outside activities as well. That being said, those of you who have been bullied for race, sex, attire, or even being a "horrorhead" can relate & rally for the ghost to finish off his tormenters. The film has some sad parts which involve the bullying aspect which they nailed perfectly, there is also some great psychological aspects of the film. But the ending has a great twist & the "victim ghost" gets retribution full circle it's purely epic. This film is definitely for the "Skins" generation, due to a lot of younger British slang is used throughout but I definitely can say this film is right up there with other UK horror comedies.

Pretty good revenge flick. Offs his tormentors one by one. The scariest was the girl who had her hands whacked. The characters weer real and when they all stared to unravel, it was gratifying. I think that beginning with the ending first hurt the integrity of the film. It should have been presented traditionally and the characters should have been fleshed out more, including the victim. All the information came at you too quickly, via conversation and the film was too fast-paced. It would have been a much better film if it was presented chronologically, the pace was slowed down, and the characters were given a chance to act more rather than rush from scene to scene. It seems like it was filmed during someone's lunch break. That said, however, the film was creepy enough and gory enough.

I have just watched the horror, Tormented and found it a very poor and rubbish film. It is briefly based on a bullied teenager comes back from the dead to take revenge on his classmates. The horror-comedy failed miserably. I found it stupid how the killers' power and murders was relied on his inhaler. Although, it had an unexpected twist at the end of the film, when the police and other students think that Justine (Tuppence Middleton) had killed the other students, it still didn't improve the film at all. There are some decent moments of horror as the killer's methods of killing such as tiring the girl up to the guillotine so that she cannot escape while chopping her hands off. Moreover, the killing of Tasha (April Pearson) was also enjoyable as it was unique and didn't how Darren Mullet was going to kill her. Overall, I found it boring, uninspiring and predictable. The film was really cheesy throughout and the humour was just embarrassing. The makeup on the killer was horrific, didn't look scary at all. Although the plot seemed a good one but when the actors, script & budget came together it was terrible. I feel that you can just add this to the list of other failed horror-slasher-comedy British films.

Prior to watching this film I was looking forward to it, also I was curious because of the title. Tormented is your typical teen horror film, with a twist. It begins with the funeral of a bullied overweight school kid, Darren Mullet who committed suicide and soon turns into a situation that nobody would expect. He comes to life again to torment his tormentors. His only mission was revenge and payback. Interestingly everybody can relate with a person that they know who your typical overweight kid looks like Darren Mullet. He becomes a serial killer with the violent hunger for the taste of revenge. The victims are a bunch of your popular, athletic and preppy teens. They meet their fate in the ways only you imagine in your head. We have all thought of having been dropped from a distance onto metal fencing. The imaginative deaths give the film a comedy look as well as being horror. This is a big plus to the film as it makes your cringe and smile at the same time which is pretty rare. The acting I was impressed with, a quick fact I found was that the suffocation of Kalila was not CGI it was done in real and wasn't edited. This shows the commitment into the film. The negatives are the fact that the film is very stereotypical. Schools in Britain are not like the film. This is coming from a 16 year old who attends an academy school which ranges from the ages of 11-19. The stereotypes bring the film down. All together it is a decent film, but unfortunately not a "must watch".
