To Let Ambadi Talkies is a modest attempt at showing how hard it is for newbie writers and directors to enter the industry. But, isn't that an already told story?Disavowed from their families, two aspiring filmmakers Anthony (Arjun Ashokan) & Manu (Sinil Z) try to find a producer for their script. Tedium continues as two never-seen-before amateur actresses enter the film as their lovers. With little shades of light humor, the story grows and the characters start to play. Misunderstanding is the main cause of what turns the drama into a thriller.I am not much intrigued by the story, but the climax is definitely a good one. The débutantes act well, although there is still a long way for them to match their fathers. That girl from Asianet TV show Balamani delivers better than her counterpart. Not much importance is given to cinematography or direction, as spontaneity is followed throughout.BOTTOM LINE: It will probably not bore you like those high-budget films nowadays do, and will make a sweet afternoon family viewing, if you ignore the amateurism involved.Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES
