Waste of time
... View Moredisgusting, overrated, pointless
... View MoreIt's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
... View MoreThe acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
... View MoreAlex (Dean Alexandrou) is taking an experimental drug for the military in Thailand against his will. He is rescued and relives the same 30 minutes over again like "Ground Hog's Day" as he attempt to figure out what is going on. The drug distorts time, wipes memory and Alex is regaining his memory slowly, although I was a bit confused about why he was reliving his life after he got killed. I mean when I die in my dreams I die in real life.I kept watching him fight the bad guys who at times would drop their guns and fight hand to hand. They acting wasn't solid. The early exchange between Michael Aston and Richard Dee-Roberts was a tritely written scene, poorly acted which set the pace for too much of the film.Frankly I got tired of watching "40 minutes ago" signs on the screen with the same scene being done over and over. What did they shoot? About 30 minutes and stretched it into an 85 minute film.? Parkour, martial arts, shoot outs...over and over again.Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.
... View MoreNo, this movie isn't going to win any awards, esp. because of its frequently atrocious acting and dialogue, BUT, those things are just placeholders. The real substance is the martial arts scenes and great stunt choreography on the one side, and the pretty astounding sci-fi/time viewing twist on the other. Ambitiously, this movie is trying to be "Memento" by being based around a plot about an experimental drug which simultaneously makes you forget the past and foresee the future! From a sci-fi point of view, it's not bad at all, even if it does seem to me to end with a logically impossible (but illuminating and satisfying) paradox. This is a pretty good and worthwhile movie if you are a fan of both martial arts movies and sci-fi, like I am, so I actually think this movie is impressive - and, of course, underrated. My rating: 6 stars out of 10. I might have given it 7 if it didn't have so many repeating scenes. But it was nicely put together under the circumstances. And very cool moves by writer/star Dean Alexandru! Sadly for this movie, it is too smart for its usual target audience of action movie fans, who consequently give it a very poor rating. You actually need to have your brain switched on when watching it. Otherwise you're not gonna get it.
... View MoreTerrific little movie. An original and interesting concept for a small budget Gung-Fu movie. I enjoyed watching it. Selina Lo is gorgeous. It is a pity there is not more of her fighting. Ideally on the beach. There were tremendous fights and they should have been longer. The plot was a bit confusing, and I am not certain I fully understood it in all the details, however I thoroughly enjoyed the way it played out.Everyone involved gives a heart-felt performance, giving this film a great shot of competing with more well funded competition. I look forward to the sequel!
... View MoreThis reminded me a lot of the old Hong Kong movies with plenty of well choreographed fights, and stunts that make me want to go outside and do something stupid. The lead (Dean Alexandrou) is particularly impressive, and his genuine skill really shows through. In fact the whole cast were great. Makes me wish more action movies had this kind of raw talent instead of pretty faces who can't roll with the punches (pun intended). The premise is interesting too, and blends a sci-fi element with plenty of solid action sequences. All in all, a great low budget martial arts movie that i'd be happy to watch again. Highly recommended for all action lovers.
