I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

It's not the best sports movie out there and you'll be able to see where this is going most of the time. Villains being over the top, twists being called in. But it's still fun to watch, which is a testament to the actors and the power of the underdog story in general which this movie relies heavily upon.Gerard D. is only a supporting actor, but he's instrumental to our protagonist. The opening of the movie is very obvious, I can't imagine one person not seeing what is being played (no pun intended). You could ask, how the other characters do not notice, but that would be taking the fun away from the movie yourself. If you allow the movie those "flaws" then you can have fun with it
