The Stewardess Trailers

Keung suffers from a recurring nightmare in which a woman in red chases him down a highway and tries to kill him with a plastic toy jet. When his girlfriend Apple leaves on a business trip, Keung pounces on the chance to approach his new neighbor, Yurei, a Japanese stewardess. However, it soon becomes apparent that his new love interest is damaged goods, and that she has Keung and Apple booked first class for a flight straight to hell.

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

Director Samuel Leung continues his dialog on Japan - Hong Kong relations, carried through many of his previous pictures (COLOUR OF PAIN, MANIACAL NIGHT) Here, Sam Lee is a young man who meets a beautiful Japanese stewardess (Kasugai Seina) and decides to "conquer her for China!" And he does, only trouble is she is somewhat of a psychotic killer. There is also the small matter of his regular girlfriend, whose father is a triad boss willing to kill anyone that upsets her. Lots of Sam Lee running around screaming follows. More interesting when viewed in the context of the director's other films, THE STEWARDESS provides few delights on its own, too few to make it a film worth recommending.

TV writer gets involved with a triad leaders daughter as well as the Japanese woman who is a bit unhinged.Okay comedic thriller suffers from a lead character who is ultimately a jerk. You really can't root for a guy who makes too many stupid choices, and unfortunately this guy makes any number of them, especially when it comes to women. I liked the film but the comedic edge that pops up now and again (when hour hero is cruising for girls) kind of lessens the danger and makes the film less than it should be. The result is its okay, but little more. Its worth a look if you fun across it as a rental or loaner but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.
