In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

The drama in 'The Sisterhood of Night' really would struggle to pass for decent story lines in an average episode of your favourite soap opera. It's a rather bizarre movie that sets itself up to be something very entertaining and just very slowly fizzles out to nothing more than a bunch of girls being girls and parents being parents. There's one story arc that gets a little heavier than the rest but even that is breezed over pretty forgettably. No element to any of it justified the making of a film. The acting is pretty average from all the girls. Interesting this was Olivia DeJonge's first film. She has come a long way from here to her very fine performance in M. Night Shyamalan's 'The Visit'. Whether it was his fine direction or just how much she's learnt in that time I'm not sure, but to see her flat and uninspiring performance here caught me quite by surprise. It was a strange film to come across Kal Penn in as well. At first I thought he must've been put in for some comic relief, either that or he was going to turn out to be more important to the story than first met the eye, but neither really turned out to be the case. Overall there's really not a lot to see here.

I actually created an account just so I could write a review for this movie, seeing as no one with good taste seemed to have left a review for it. First of all, the only good thing about this movie was the cinematography, which was stunning, and I suppose the editing was pretty well done, too. But within the realm of the story, it made absolutely no sense. It was super artsy and over-dramatic. A movie like this should either have been done with much more sophisticated actors (AKA, not ones that look barely a day over 14), or have been a dark comedy. I really could not take the characters seriously, especially Mary. I mean, here's this girl with a super round baby face that played one of my childhood heroes in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. It was the most uncomfortable thing ever. BAD casting choice! She was way too awkward and not charming in that role. And watching her lose her virginity made me throw my hands up in disgust. Although, I was pretty pleased with the casting of Kara Hayward for Emily. She has the right amount of awkward and spunky to play the character. Although, her character was taken WAY too seriously (along with everything else in the movie), and at the end it was really not believable that she would have led a girl into such a horrific prank. And Levinia's suicide that night didn't make much sense to me, either. It just wasn't very believable. Aside from awkwardly casting children to play characters that were far too grown up for them, the girls in this movie weren't necessarily bad actors. The problem was just that the script for this movie is a massive piece of sh*t. Nothing's believable, it's one big cliché after another, it's either not enough or too much, it doesn't really have any sense of direction... It's just bad. By the end I had no idea what was even going on, when things were supposed to be taking place, and by the time we got to the big random dance number I had seriously lost all hope that this movie could possibly be taken seriously. I'd say the only thing I took away from this movie was that it had a good moral value behind it. But the way it was executed sorely ruined it and by the time the credits rolled up I exclaimed "well that was f***ing lame", and turned it off. I give this movie a 5/10 for it's gorgeous cinematography and the editor's ability to piece together the resemblance of a good story. The rest was garbage.

The Sisterhood of Night is a film in which should be shown to everyone. This movie is based around a group of teens who opted to step away from the social networks and all the ignorant drama that takes place within them, in fact they specified Facebook to be the one to opt away from. A group of teens form a secret club and that club was to simply help each other have an outlet to work on their inner problems and cope with them without the ignorance of gossipers. This movie showed how something as simple as their club can be turned into a public spectacle due to jealousy within the social aspect of social media outlets such as facebook. This movie was not a perfectly overpriced film, and it did not casts the A list of actors and actresses, it put the story out as it was to be. The story-line was amazing, the cast did a wonderful job, this movie as a whole deserves an award for what they made. Outstanding!!!

I didn't know what to expect when I first started watching the Sisterhood, and little did I know, I would be in for a surprisingly intriguing and emotional film. About halfway through, I thought it was just going to be another trashy movie, but I soon figured that would not be the case.As a teen myself, I would say the film was a very accurate showing of teens today. The script and acting felt very real, and the real concept of the Sisterhood sounds like something even I would want to join! (SPOILERS!) The confessions that the members of the group spill are realistic, sounding like things my friends and I would secretly think or do. Then there is the whole issue with Kara Hayward's Emily. A desperation for friends, or even more, followers on her blog, and a mind for revenge on an enemy prompts her to (SPOILERS AGAIN!) lie about what she sees at the 'cult' meetings in the woods. Again, something that would happen in real life. I can't recall another film, at least right now, with as accurate a portrayal of the emotions that occur to teens now. Among all of them, I think the best character was definitely Mary. She was tough, and would fiercely protect her friends and keep her secrets. (SPOILERS) And while she did seem like a straight up b**** sometimes, she isn't afraid to show her sensitive, emotional side when she wants to. All in all, a great movie that unexpectedly made me cry. Great acting from the girls, especially Georgie!
