Load of rubbish!!
... View MoreThis is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
... View MoreAll that we are seeing on the screen is happening with real people, real action sequences in the background, forcing the eye to watch as if we were there.
... View MoreOk... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
... View MoreDon't expect an Oscar....but fun flick all around!!! Love William H. Macy as always.Morgan Freeman is great and CW....actually shows a sensitive side.....Fun Movie!!!!I would watch again.
... View MoreRoger (Christopher Walken) is a security guard in a museum who spends the day in front of the painting 'The Lonely Maiden' which he admires. He knows so much about the painting he can give an in depth talk about it to the museum visitors. When he is bored he daydreams of saving the museums from armed crooks which is a scene that the film opens with. The rest of the film is underwhelming and low key as Roger finds out that museum is selling its collection to a museum in Denmark. Two other security guards Charles (Morgan Freeman) and George (William H Macy) are just as upset at this decision as they too have a favourite object of beauty at the museum. Moving to Denmark is not a viable option. They decide to steal their favourite pieces and replace it with a copy but it is easier said than done. George who claims to be ex military and who also likes to be naked has the more difficult task when it comes to making the switch. The film is amiable but also forgettable and at times it is just unexciting before it becomes more tense at the latter part of the picture. It is more a light comedy than drama but I could not help thinking that all three leads have made better heist films before such as Walken in The Anderson Tapes and Macy in Welcome to Collinwood.
... View MoreWhen I read the synopsis for this I immediately thought of 'Mad Money' one of my all time favourite Sunday afternoon films. When I noticed the cast I expected myself to be in for a treat.Must admit I was a little disappointed. The plot is quite simple and fairly tame (perfect), the cast are fantastic (as expected) it was the pace of the film I had a problem with. You see a lot of the film through Walken's character, who is basically killing time waiting to die. That's how this film felt in places.Where Mad Money has a degree of energy and a chirpy sound track this film sucks energy. It is hard also to connect with people whose one goal is to stand and stare at something all day.Of course all these points are themes that run through the film and work themselves out, watching them was quite tiring.Excellent acting production, story - just a bit slow and limp.
... View MoreThe Heist isn't one of those films which I would watch intentionally but, would watch if there was literally nothing else to do. It lacks story, humour and the films ending is too predictable. The film doesn't even seem to be interesting from the start but I have to give it a fair judgment so I plowed on through it.The actors involved are brilliant, marvelous actors! Morgan Freeman and Christopher Walken are two of my favourite actors two of lived but William H. Macy is absolutely dreadful in this film and as an actor. This is one of the films main faults as the actor tried to be funny yet failed terribly. I think Christopher Walken made up for the film as he was one of the lead roles and not a side character.Film was okay, funny moments with Morgan Freeman and dramatic scenes with Christopher Walken, but William H. Macy is useless in every single way which is why I would give this film:6/10
