This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
... View MoreAlthough I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
... View MoreIt’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
... View MoreThe movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
... View MoreThis series is entertaining on different levels. First, there's the martial arts. Not like a Bruce Lee movie intensity but entertaining enough. Then there's the translation to English. Its pretty funny. I can't tell you how many times I've called my brother, brother instead of his name or my sisters, sister, instead of their names. Yet they all call him Bruce Bruce and not brother. The early part of the series is supposed to be set in the time before he left for the US, which was in 1959. He then died in 1973, yet one of the the gang members in the earlier episodes in Hong Kong was wearing a Justin Timberlake t-shirt. Timberlake wasn't even born until 1981.If sets and wardrobes not matching the time isn't an issue for you then you should enjoy this series. If they are, then just suspend your beliefs for each episode and enjoy it for the comic relief.
... View MoreThoroughly enjoyed this series. There are definitely some historical inaccuracies, particularly to how he got his injuries that lead to paralysis. However it really gives the viewer the essence of Bruce Lee's character, his affinity to learn & develop, his philosophy of life and his amazing work ethic. It's low budget at $6.4 million so forgive occasional mishaps-However the actor who plays Bruce Lee is absolutely amazing-a big mistake not to have used him in the latest Hollywood blockbuster but glad he did not-as that is full of too many historical mistakes. You will have to read subtitles though but that will mean you will have to respect Bruce Lee Li Xiao Long is of Hong Kong origin. For an intimate understanding of what drove Bruce Lee's genius this series is a must. I watched all 50 episodes on Netflix and loved it !!!!
... View MoreBetter than the movie "The Dragon" that's for sure. Sure this is a low budget movie and most scenes (in America) were filmed with modern cars, but you can simply by-pass all of this if you think about the character Bruce Lee himself. Danny Chan did an outstanding job. He deserves more roles in acting.
