The movie's only flaw is also a virtue: It's jammed with characters, stories, warmth and laughs.
... View MoreYo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
... View MoreA terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
... View MoreThe movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
... View MoreI saw this as part of The Belfast Film Festival event "Soiled Shorts" and I loved every second of it. Obviously its very tongue in cheek, and the acting is purposefully hammy, but hands up who's ever seen a monster made of old video machines? Nope, not me, and it was fantastically done. The (short) film has a distinctly retro feel, which is all very intentional. Set in an old video store (which it confirms at the end really exists) it's a tale of the digital online giants trying to destroy The Last Video Store. There's a few quite Astron6 style scenes in there, and I don't want to give away how the monster is destroyed, but this was a fun ten minutes for me and I enjoyed too trying to see how many of those titles on the wall of the shop I own myself haha.
