Very disappointed :(

Let's be realistic.

Beautiful, moving film.

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

Yeah, I can see why some hardcore LBT fans were disappointed by this first sequel. It seems a little light-hearted compared to the darker, more adult tone of the movie. This movie has a primarily kid message and a weak, padded story. The characters are also a little annoying, especially Cera. They all seem a little too bratty compared to the first movie. The songs were also really annoying! However, this movie does have some redeeming qualities. For example, the egg-stealers were pretty funny. They were dumb as heck but still pretty amusing. The animation was actually pretty good for a direct to DVD release and the same goes for the action scenes. In fact, when Chomper and his family came along, I became a little more invested. The family dynamic with Chomper and his parents is cute and Chomper is too in that regard. In conclusion, this movie isn't bad, just underwhelming.

My Take: Decent straight-to-video effort. Granted, sparks won't fly freely in the direct-to-video sequel THE LAND BEFORE TIME II: THE GREAT VALLEY ADVENTURE, but it's good enough to satisfy your kids hunger for fun. It's a film where you could just leave the kids and allow yourself to do something else. It's harmless, family movie, which, surprisingly, I found decent.Like all direct-to-video efforts, expect it to have a low-quality plot, weak characterizations and childish situations. But with all it's low shots, you can just look in your child's eyes and see how you rate the film. I remember watching this non-stop sequels over and over again when I was a kid, in other words, I was a big fan of all this stuff. But know, THE LAND BEFORE TIME II has dated badly. Now, I remember how inferior the new plot is to the original's plot. But, rating as a kid flick, it's something to keep the kids busy. It's a bit better than the other sequels that followed.By the end, upon seeing the eyes of the kids, you decide what rating you'll give to the film, but I give it, at least ***, a high rating for a film that isn't that good on quality. Nevertheless, it provides as much fine fun to kids and as decent enough as I remember.Video movie rating: *** out of 5.

I remember seeing the land before time 2 when it came out in 1994, this one came out 6 years after the first land before time (1988). This story sets out when Littlefoot and his friends find an egg, it hatches and they find out that it's a sharptooth, they get use to it as they call chomper, a male little T-rex.

Chomper is a cute new character who steals the film. The villains comprise of two egg stealers & two Sharp Tooths. The plot is overlong but enjoyable. Perhaps the inclusion of songs was a mistake but they're not too annoying. If you loved the original then you'll be happy to meet the characters again. I certainly was. 6/10
