Go in cold, and you're likely to emerge with your blood boiling. This has to be seen to be believed.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

Saw the film at the 2000 New York International Independent film festival. Best flick at the festival. A thinking man's movie. Way over the head of the average film goer but so is Rocky and Bullwinkle. Fine performances by actors you will never see anywhere else. A true throwback to the American Independent of the 70's when plot and character meant something. Looking for the DVD, but cannot find it. Hopefully the producers will get it out there. Well worth the watch - if you have a brain.

Hollywood may not care, but first time film director Scott Ross has made a throwback to the American New Wave Cinema of the 70's in the style of early Scorsese, Altman, Coppola, and Friedkin. The Grue Crew has the look, sound, and feel of a movie made for much more money than its shoestring budget would suggest. This movie is what Sundance was once all about. It has a compelling story, rich colorful characters, and a visual style that is both interesting and refreshing. The Grue Crew is a remarkable piece of film making. If this is Scott Ross' first film, I can't wait to see hi

This first time filmmaker (Ross) comes out of the gate with a bang...literally. Part "Pulp Fiction", part "Goodfellas", and wildly original, "The Grue Crew" takes us through the lives of four lost souls.... who just happen to chop up dead bodies for a living. The main character (Anthony) is a reluctant member of his uncle's crime family. Anthony strives to "do good", yet somehow always seems to end up down the wrong path. Anthony contiunes to fight his lot in life and along the way he gets philosophical advice from his misfit partners in crime. This film is part comedy, part drama, and part a statement on today's "not my fault" society. It is shot, acted, and put together so well, you will swear you are watching a 20 million dollar production. For those of you ready for something different, this movie is for you.
