The Godthumb Trailers

This film is an incredibly silly parody of The Godfather,....starring thumbs with computer-generated faces! WAIT!!!! Keep reading--it's really not as dumb as it sounds and it is darn funny! Really! Steve Oedekerk has created several thumb parodies and they are all well worth watching...

I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

"The Godthumb" is a half-hour film from 2002, so this one has its 15th anniversary this year and maybe you already guessed from the title that this is another of Oscar nominee Steve Oedekerk's parodies of very well-known movies. If so, then you guessed correctly because in the center of it all here we have thumbs portraying real people including Don Corleone and his lawyers and sons. It is a parody of "The Godfather", a film that many consider the greatest of all time and I personally must say I believe it it is inferior to the sequel that I consider one of the greatest of all time. But we shall speak about these two on another occasion. Oh yeah, well back to this one here now. I guess we have to. There are several classic scenes from "The Godfather" references and if you have seen the original (not too long ago), then you will recognize these scenes of course. One would be the mention of the daughter's wedding day. Other than that, Oedekerk shows us the Don's unnatural obsession with kittens, which was intended as one of the film's comedic highlights, but it's really just not working out and same can be said about the whole movie. Maybe I am a bit biased as I am not a fan of the other Thumb films I have seen either, but the concept is just nothing that amazes me I must say. In any case, the director here is David Bourla and his collaborations with Oedekerk are probably the only reason why his name is not entirely unknown. This one runs for roughly half an hour and I believe if you want to you could watch all these Thumb films in one sitting. But why would you want to? It's nothing creative or entertaining in my opinion and give it a thumbs-down. Stay away.

Steve Oedekerk is an exceptionally funny man, his works are among the best of the genre (Ace Ventura, The Nutty Professor, Kung Pow) and are an extremely enjoyable type of movie. This, part 2 of 6 in the Thumb Series is no exception. As you can probably guess from the title, this is a spoof of the highly acclaimed 1972 hit "The Godfather" and I must say, this short serves the movie well. There are many scenes of this short I laughed hard at, and it certifies that there is certainly such thing as a laugh a minute comedy. This film is a great watch for fans of "The Godfather", Steve Oedekerk and the thumb series. Part 2 may be one of the weakest in the 6 but is definitely a good movie.I rate this film 66%. Definitely good, and if you cant find it on DVD, it is on Youtube.

This is by far, the greatest thumb movie! This movie has all the spoofs off of "The Godfather". It has the shooting, the orange peel, the horse head, and some aspect of the dialogue. Steve Odekerk does it again with this laugh-out-loud thumbation film thats always a delight to see. I would give this movie an 8/10. I know that seems high for such a low-budget movie, but this movie deserves every star. More people should see this movie, and enjoy it for what it is. The idea of putting faces on thumbs seemed really stupid to me before I watched "The Godthumb". This film is completely original, and works to potential. It had to spoof off of a film that is widely loved and admired, and anyone would have difficulty doing that. Steve Odekerk makes it look so easy, and pays respect to "The Godfather". This movie should be loved and admired by all movie-goers everywhere.
