... View MoreA brilliant film that helped define a genre
... View MoreSimple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
... View MoreIt's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
... View MoreI'm too young remember Live Aid(1985) but this one I didn't miss! The best concert ever with an all star cast of the greatest artists of the 80's and 90's. Many great moments but James Hetfield's version of Stone Cold Crazy and Elton John & Axl Rose version of Bohemian Rhapsody stands out.A must for anyone who loves rock n roll!
... View MoreThe best: George Michael as the lead singer for Queen. Superb. Brian May playing with Def Leppard. David Bowie with Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson singing "All the young dudes".The worst: Guns'n Roses, Liza Minelli, Annie Lenox, the whole sentimentalism thing.Absolute worst: Elton John, looking baffled and confused, singing Bohemian Rhapsody off key.Weird: The lightning system. It was lacking. Conclusion: A good concert, a good cause, marred by small details, bad singing and too much commercialism. Still, the good points overshadow the bad ones. The climax of the concert, at least for me, is David Bowie singing "Heroes" and ending it with a prayer.
... View MoreI first saw The Freddie Mercury Tribute in 1995, when I was 14, and I was blown away! It is jam-packed full of Queen songs, footage, *and* rock legends. This concert (the video)introduced me to Roger Daltrey and Robert Plant, which has consequently made me a *huge* Who and Led Zeppelin fan. Anyway, this concert is fabulous. One of my favourite parts is when Brian May is singing 'Too Much Love Will Kill You', and is almost crying! :( It is definitely recommended. I am positive that if you do not particularly like Queen when you first view it, you will by the end of it, as well as all the other legends involved. Words just cannot describe, and I cannot imagine how amazing it must have been to have actually attended the concert! Queen really are the champions, and this concert really *will* rock you! -Cathryn
... View MoreThis concert was everything it lived up to be. The bands did a very good job performing. My personal favorite performance was the one put on by Extreme. The tape showed alot of Archive footage of Freddie Mercury, as well as Queen. From the beginning of Queen's career, to the very end.The concert has alot of great moments, especially Liz Taylor making her big begging speech to the crowd. The tape is for everyone, Queen fans, or fans wanting to know about Queen. The same goes for Freddie Mercury as well. This is real great concert to watch, rent it, or buy it, you will be very pleased.
