This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

If this really is based on a true story, then I feel sorry for the parents of the victims that this film was ever made.So i'm ignoring the fact that it could be 'fact' and will review it as a film. The plot is basically this, a group of high-school outsiders get fed up of being bullied by your atypical bullies who throw milk at them, spit in their books, etc. They devise an elaborate plan from their joint love of horror films to teach all of their antagonists a lesson. So they all dress up as their favourite horror characters (none of which I can recall), and invite them all to a costume party.once the party starts, the outsiders party really gets started.....For a low budget horror film, it's really well made, with good performances from the initial victims, and with many nods to other horror films, Audition in particular, and hints of Rob Zombie in the third act.But the other victims are just so one dimensional, you couldn't really care what happens to them. At the beginning of the siege, the hostages are all arrogant toward the victims, and bearing in mind this is supposedly based on a true story, it just doesn't fit well if you put yourself in that situation. But there are plenty of red herrings to keep you guessing, and one remarkable element to the film, which makes it all the more sinister, is that it has an element of Van Sant's 'Elephant' to it.It's a solid enough horror movie, never outstaying it's welcome, but like I said at the top, if it really was based on a true story, it was done in bad taste.

This movie is bad. Cinematography is quite OK but acting is awful. Actually acting is not THE problem: it's the story that lacks of rhythm. Watching is a torture so I fast forwarded, but later it was boring as before.Furthermore the plot is totally not believable. Bullies are kids like the others: they are not nice, but definitely they do not deserve those tortures! Are the bullied psychopaths? No, they are not. Psychos do not need a whole night to exploit their madness. So what are they? I wish I knew! The characters are so badly designed that they even fail to be amusing, like in Saw or in Texas Massacre to name a few. They are meaningless. So the movie fails to be an horror because it is too mild and it fails to be a drama because it is far from realistic and you cannot fell empathy for any of the characters.Don't waste your time, do not watch this movie.2/10

I was absolutely offended by this film. I personally know how it feels to have someone torment you, but to promote revenge on this nature.. just terrible. I get it, the film is meant to entertain, but this is film making at its worst. It's like they were trying to say Columbine was okay. Bullying is never alright, but getting revenge is never okay either. Two wrongs don't make right, it only makes two wrongs! On top of the storyline being awful, the acting was bad, the cheesy "scary" voice was dreadful, and the movie seemed to drag on FOREVER. To be honest, I just watched four films in a row, all horror, independent films and this is the only one I cared to review. Why you ask? Because it was so bad I had to warn others. Please, for the sake of 90 minutes of your life, watch anything else, but this eyesore.

OK, some of you will be offended by my thoughts about this film, and frankly I couldn't care less. Lets get that straight. I was bullied relentlessly as a kid all the way through my high school years for everything from my race, religion the way I spoke the fact that I was a kind of sort of nerd/jock, everything. This movie speaks to a part of me that was born out of that turmoil, a sick, twisted, sadistic side that only my former bullies have seen. Granted I never took it to the extent that the film shows, but I have broken my fair share of bones to drive home the point, that I wanted to be left alone. But I would be lying through my teeth if I said I hadn't dreamed of taking it further, and most of you would be too. The down trodden will always dream of rising to give the wicked their just due.As a theater geek, and aspiring actor, writer, and all around movie connoisseur I was very impressed with the story they were able to tell on a shoestring budget. The lack of flashy special effects creates an aura of realism. As well as leaving the more disturbing bits for your own imagination to run wild. And yes the script could have used some reworking and some of the actors are robotic. Dean could have been much better portrayed but Emily was without a doubt the best performer of the "freaks". The redhead "hot chick" was the best of the victims, she was excellent. The "jock" was the worst, very one dimensional. And more could have been done with the class clown character, the one that got the cattle gun to the face. Really would've liked to see more character development with the "freaks" because this is the type of movie where you almost find yourself rooting for them. A not so stereotypical portrayal of the popular kids would've also been appreciated, but I understand that they had to go with archetypes of these characters. I'd love to see a remake with a larger budget and better actors. The main reason why I loved this movie is because it's a horror movie that can actually happen. Strange creatures and monsters don't scare us any more because we know them not to be real. The truth is now being revealed in this day and age, the only real monsters are monsters of our own creation. For the most part, monsters who bring guns to school to kill their classmates, are created by the bullies who torment them day in and day out. And the school administrators who do nothing to stop the abuse when they see it going on. It's a glimpse into the dark side of the "duality of man" as RL Stevenson(Dr. Jekel and Mr. Hyde) put it. The scariest monster to ever walk this earth is man. And this movie illustrates that quite well.
