Highly Overrated But Still Good

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.

This movie hit so close to MY previous addicted spirit as I once was a "terrible angel" by conscious choice and wide-eyed decisions. The movie was compelling. If anyone has lived an impulsive lifestyle, that of illegalities or immoral value(s) that are induced by a power force that hijacks our self discipline, creates the illusionary addicted personality, and listens to the negative neuronal-adapted brain messaging under the influence of external substances, then you will understand that once an "addicted" life is so far out of control...the chances of that life ever retuning to a homeostasis of normal functioning...is slim to nil. The term "hit rock bottom" doesn't even come close to what really does happen. So if we look at ALL the prevention and intervention programs, education programs, science, social welfare contributions, and all the counseling with rehabilitation facilities, and private doctors and mental health facilities and treatment(s) increasing, even lose our faith...still many do not overcome that power-force drive. But if you were a VISIONARY and your purpose in life was to set out saving these save-less damaged lives, one must ponder how to commence these undertaking which is almost an impossible task. The term "terrible angel" for me...meant myself during my addicted years and all those I hurt, betrayed, stole, lied, or deceived...these were my "terrible angel" behavioral acts, and in trying to secure that addicted lifestyle, even though I may not have tried to do these things with intent to hurt, destroy, and/or deceive, it happened anyway. We don't feel the pain under the influence...but the outside world around us does. In this movie I did not get it until the last minutes...and then it hit me like a brick wall...what a concept...that I am sure many mothers, fathers, or siblings have deeply thought of exactly how far they would go to accomplish this dramatic reversal...most family members cannot for miscellaneous reasons, but for the most part they can't endure the suffering of themselves or their loved one. But the "terrible angels" in this movie refers to the catastrophic, undermining, unethical, fear-promoting, behavioral actions that a "guardian angel" will do to reverse the "addicted cycle process" and give it one last shot to SAVE this life's soul. So the terrible things this angel does is in actuality an "Act of God"..."to save these lives", especially if it works. The terrible acts performed are simply to instill fear of worse than death making the addicted individual snap out of the addicted world by detox coupled with scare tactics...What a brilliant methodical detailed out plan...who ever thought of it even just in a movie, was a genius! Tremendous concept, including the title. This movie will appeal to all who have risen above their own demons and perhaps to scientists. Thank you for this movie...I will show it to many! Bravo! By about 25 minutes in I knew what was going on.. but I was still entertained! It was a really slow start but then after 15-20 minutes it started getting a lot better.. You really should stay through until the end though if you haven't figured things out 25-30 minutes in like I did.I also have no idea what I could compare this to either, it is a bit unique to me which is why I I was entertained.. I like originality.. so if you can sit through the slow start without giving up like one of the other reviewers then you'll probably enjoy it.I would have rated it higher if it weren't for some bad acting moments and the really slow start.

Initially, this movie caught my attention due to the cover/poster and it's title. Then I was a bit intrigued about how little was written in regards to the plot summaries. So I decided to find out for myself! There were a couple of points where it dragged a little and I almost stopped watching, but I am really glad that I watched it to the end! For those of you who are looking for gore, this isn't for you... for those of you looking for standard horror/thriller clichés, you won't find what you're expecting. But for those of you who can truly stand in front of a mirror and be honest with yourself about what and who you see in that reflection, then you'll appreciate every moment of this movie!

No doubt in my mind there are some very sick cookies in this mad world of ours...we only have to see the "Saw" films 1-6 which were horror in the extreme...and so we now deal with "Terrible Angels" OK so it's certainly not for the faint hearted, within the first few minutes when you see someone buried underground with a tube for water and food...you just know this could give you nightmares, especially when we have just seen "The Raven" and the Edger Allen Po story dealing with the live burial of his lady friend...anyway "Terrible Angels" is far from a fast paced thriller...it drags on until we see Linda Grossel (Una Jo Blade) get kidnapped, she ends up as a prisoner with a wire rope and chain around her neck in some wooded area away from the civilisation...worse still there are tubes out of the ground, then the horror of people underground in coffins, they beg her for water...begging to be let out...the horror continues, backwards and forwards to her whilst being interviewed....she recalling what has happened to her...disbelief from her interrogator Ben Nolan(Michael Madsen)...this film is certainly thought provoking, and although she gets away, twice I will not actually spoil the ending, for this was just so unexpected it will leave you just asking "What the hell is this all about?" there are some sick cookies as previously mentioned that can write this stuff...if it is supposed to be based on real life God help us (if he exists at all?)
