... View More'TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES': Two and a Half Stars (Out of Five)An animated superhero comedy film, based on the popular animated kids' TV show, which is based on the popular DC comic book (of the same name). It was directed by Peter Rida Michail and Aaron Horvath, and it was written by Michael Jelenic and Horvath (all three also served as series creators of the show). It features all of the same main voice cast as well, plus Will Arnett (who also served as a producer of the movie). The story revolves around the teen superheroes dreaming of movie stardom, like the adult superheroes they idolize, when they have to take on a supervillain that's trying to take over the world (voiced by Arnett). The film bombed at the Box Office, but it's gotten mostly positive reviews from critics. I think that parts of it are funny, and I like the plot of the film, but it's extremely silly and geared entirely towards children. I'm sure kids will probably love it, and adults that have to watch it with them might find it mildly amusing, but it's mostly a waste of time. I also couldn't stay awake for most of it.
... View MoreI scrolled down the rewiews for this piece of garbage for 1 minute and every single review was a 10 out of ten. The top review was by a ten year old, what would he know? This film was based off a show on cartoon network that was based off a cartoon (that was also on cartoon network) from the early 2000's that was really good. The people at cartoon network wanted to cash in on the success of the first show and made this one by assuming what kids today think is funny, such as fart jokes. Just look at ANY cn show in the past decade (uncle granpa, clarence etc) they are just looking for money. If you are a parent looking for a good show for your child, stay away from this channel and this movie. Put on the old show, make a movie, reboot it, just anything but this... madness
... View MoreFull disclosure. I've never seen the Teen Titans Go TV series, we happened across this because I enjoyed the trailer and the film worked out timewise with us seeing another later in the day. (I'm also considerably older than the target audience). Disgruntled by his teams inability to be picked up for a major Hollywood picture, when seemingly everyone other hero has done, and their general lack of respect, Robin decides that the Teen Titans need an arch nemesis and settles on Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson. Thwarting one of Slade's schemes actually gains Robin the attention he desires, but will it come at the expense of his friends and teammates - and can Hollywood be trusted to do them justice. So what did I think. It was reasonably entertaining, though its funniest Meta-moments were all in the trailers. The animation was nice and the vocal performances were excellent. (Nic Cage finally getting to be Superman and Greg Davies of all people, perfectly cast as the voice of a minor villain in the opening scenes.) The songs were OK, if a little repetitive. The story was a little basic, probably geared towards the younger audience and some of the gags were a bit juvenile, again, not something I can be too critical of, given that I'm not the demographic they were aiming for. Bit sillier than I'd have hoped for, and a little too much in the trailer, but other than that it's a decent way to waste 90 minutes.
... View MoreSilliest movie ever... if you're fans of Teen Titans GO! Took my kids because they're big fans. Although I know nothing of this particular version of the Teen Titans, I mildly enjoyed it. It has a catchy soundtrack and some of the voice actors that play the actual characters on TV. My favorite line in the movie is when Cyborg says referring to Superman played by Nick Cage, "Superman? He's our National Treasure". But the best scene in the movie is the ending.
