Tammy Trailers

For Tammy, a burger-joint employee, a bad day keeps getting worse. She wrecks her car, loses her job and finds that her husband has been unfaithful. It's time for Tammy to hit the road, but without money or transportation, her options are limited. Her only choice is a road trip with her hard-drinking grandmother, Pearl, who has a car, cash and an itch to see Niagara Falls. It's not the escape Tammy had in mind, but it may be what she needs.

Wow! What a bizarre film! Unfortunately the few funny moments there were were quite overshadowed by it's completely weird and random vibe throughout.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

I am surprised by the really horrible reviews, but i think it is really due to the fact that this is a movie without a genre. (I also suspect people didn't like this movie because they can only handle an over-weight, unattractive female star when she is being funny and not when she is being human.)First of all, this is not a comedy, though it has some funny moments and the main character is comic, but she's also sad, lost, and a mess. It is not an action movie, either. The script that is frankly rather uneventful. Nor is it a romance, and I suspect more than one movie goer was totally turned off by the very unattractive heroine. Her very dumpiness is a whole part of the story, however, and I was so happy that for once to see some realism in US cinema. There IS a moment when the heroine gets a barely make-over but then she just goes back to being dumpy (albeit with a little more self-confidence) so I guess this is not a teen movie either. So what is it? A story about a very realistic, uneducated, dumpy, woman in middle America with a slightly abusive mother, an alcoholic grandma, childhood trauma, and a crappy job and car that goes on an almost adventure and figures out she needs to get her life together. That's it. Its a very non Hollywood movie, but its freshness charmed me and I can see why it charmed so many talented actors to star in it.

We all love Melissa and of course the other great actors, but come on,casting crew: Melissa was 44, Alison (her movie mother) 55 and Susan(her movie granny) 68 at the time the movie was made. That is just plain disrespectful to the audience to create family lineage here. From the get-go seeing Susan Sarandon as Melissa's grandmother was plain disturbing. With another cast it would have been a lot more believable and thus funnier. And I really don't understand why one cannot write a short and sweet review here, but one has to fill ten lines. It does not make any sense in the day and age of twitter. Please, stop the insanity.

" This flick isn't as bad as so many reviews are claiming!! It's another in a long list of 'life lessons learned while on the road movies' with plenty of (not guffaw moments) but plenty of light heart-ed luffs and chuckles.Melissa McCarthy knows she has created this bloated sassy bitch with a kind and well meaning heart character, and she is taking it to the box office to cash in because plenty of people think she's funny. In 'Tammy' she has plenty of Hollywood names around her .. Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates being most prominent and doing their role well.As a simple comedy it works fine. I don't think for one moment there is some meaningful message so many viewer seems to be seeking. It's just Tammy & granny hitting the road because they are tired of their daily routine and seek something different .... in Niagara Falls ... and they find their goal. And tear-up plenty of stuff on the way! It's a good movie! " well it's hard to write 10 lines so I just captured this review.

I loved this and I (apparently) love Melissa McCarthy, but my favourite was Kathy Bates. For me this movie classifies as a "stupid comedy" (my favourite is Dodgeball) and within this "genre" I found it to be very enjoyable. The film's a mess, everyone in it is a mess, but somehow the whole thing works. It's crazy, it's ridiculous, it's predictable and sloppy, but I love it! I also think that McCarthy and Sarandon have great chemistry - unlike basically everyone else who watched this movie it would seem - and I really enjoyed how this comedy focused on interesting women for once. Granted it's not perfect, but it's definitely one for the re-watch folder for me.
