Special Dead Trailers

When a zombie plague infects a camp for the mentally handicapped, a ragtag band of campers and counselors struggles to survive the night. The unlikely heroes fight their way off the mountain as, one by one, they're picked off and join the ranks of the walking dead. It's a campy stampede of blood, boobs and gore as some "very special" people show that they can kick some serious undead ass.

Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay

All that we are seeing on the screen is happening with real people, real action sequences in the background, forcing the eye to watch as if we were there.

I wasn't expecting much when I saw this title peaking out from behind a bunch of discount zombie movies. However being the enthusiast that I am, I decided to give it a shot. I was really blown away by the quality of this production. I found the acting decent, the script witty, and the majority of the shots composed quite well. The only flaws I could really say this piece suffers from is a tendency to linger on some of the zombie carnage for too long, and repetition of some of the same jokes. All in all I found it a highly entertaining piece of zombie cinema with just enough tongue in cheek to keep me giggling almost the whole time.Well done!

Myself and a couple of pals watched this last night (after my mate going on about this for a year or so), and I gotta tell ya this is shite.First off I read on IMDb this was FUNNY, GORY and WELL MADE..you've got to be joking!!! It had maybe two funny moments in it, gore...well there is blood and some intestines, but thats about it, acting is almost embarrassing, these people trying to act out retarded people...not one actor even comes across as retarded, just painfully bad acting. One line someone says "YOU EVER RODE A ZOMBIE HORSE", I'm thinking this could be quite cool, expecting it to happen...It doesn't! Obviously people out there DO actually like even love this film, but Im a massive horror fan...and this is complete poo.If you're expecting the next 'EVIL DEAD'. you are going to be sorely disappointed.I gave it 3/10, that is being generous...it gets 2 points just for the poster, that is good I'll give 'em that.

I never even heard of this movie beyond stumbling upon it upon Amazon. I thought, hey this sounds great! A zombie film that seems on all levels of wrong! I was right and wrong...I know this movie was made on a low budget, but come on! We live in the digital age here folks! I want to see what is happening, really I'm quite interested. It was so dark and granulated like something you might see on you tube or a twenty year old VHS. Perhaps this movie didn't touch all that sets me off during a movie, I mean comparing this movie to Shaun of the Dead is quite unjust. I know I'm sounding kind of harsh here, Special Dead did have some very good moments and great handling of handicapped theme, but nun-chuck guy got on my nerves, he didn't have enough moxie to act that way. I felt it lacked some irony that make 'spoofs' like this funny. I was expecting him to get 'zombie' after showing his love for the dead with the zombie chick. I did enjoy the misplaced criminal though, he really gave me a laugh with 'helmet girl'. I enjoyed some of the handicapped banter, and creative use of glue sticks for shutting up zombies. I'm sure there were even more funny moments in this film, but I really am hard pressed to remember them right now.Perhaps it may grow on me if I were to watch it again, but hey, it is going in the right direction, fans of the genre should give it a try if only to say you watched it. Like films of this sort, make up your own mind.

How did this get selected for a Film Festival? Great concept. Great poster. Awesome Tag Line. That's it. Your enjoyment ends there. This film was so badly shot that 90% of the movie was impossible to see. How was the gore, you ask? How was the makeup? No idea. Couldn't see ANY of it. It was almost completely shrouded in darkness. I can't believe that this was allowed in a film festival where people paid money to see it. I was so angry, I almost walked out and demanded my money back. It's like watching a bootlegged copy of a movie someone recorded at a movie theater with a hand held, cheap video camera as the battery was dying.I stayed, out of respect for the filmmakers who probably did try to make something new. But basically, it was a waste of 2 hours and hard-earned money. They should sell the rights to the concept and let Sam Raimi or someone completely re-write and direct it.Save your money and your time.
