The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

I loved all three movies. I love history. After watching the series I felt and understood the struggle and pain the colonists endured and what drove them to declare independence. It's one thing to know history and another thing to totally feel the desperation they endured. I also loved the characters. This was so well done. I wished the characters could have gone on to continue the struggle. You could have made it a series like Rome and people would have eaten it up.

Smuggling scene. Brave colonial smugglers fall into a Royal Navy trap. Cut to the deck of H.M.S. Whatever, and what do we see? A warship manned entirely by Redcoats -- an entire quarterdeck of soldiers. Seriously? We couldn't afford some blue coats? Either this bilge was written BY people this ignorant, or it was written FOR people this ignorant. Pitiful.

Spoiler alert! If you are trying to get a history lesson with period accurate props, script and language...move on, this is not for you. This is a History Channel production...that channel is run by Progressives and wouldn't dare provide real history in a program like this because it would fly in the face of the false narrative Progressives strive to teach our children about American History. With that said, it portrays the Americans in a surprisingly good light. The American Colonist's "American accents" and manner of speaking is "slight grin" type of funny if you take this little series for what it is..."entertainment". It's a fun, fast moving loose synopsis of the beginning of the American Revolution. It ends as the war just gets underway. This is not to be taken very seriously. It's a loose take on history, but not a historical drag like many serious history flicks can be.This is History Channel, people...it has about as much historically correct credence these days as the Weather Channel's regurgitating the "man made global warming" farce. Only a fool would believe it in total.

So what if it is not on par with what truly happened historically? So what if character representation is not precise? This mini series was not meant to be an historical reference. It was written for entertainment and very entertaining it is. Fact is no one knows absolutely for sure what took place back then as they were not around during that period. This mini series is not about what happened but rather about entertainment and what could have been.Hats off to history channel for what I consider a masterpiece indeed. My only disappointment was that it was a short mini series. I really loved it.
