The greatest movie ever made..!
... View MoreTells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
... View MoreA film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
... View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
... View MoreSleeping with Other People isn't trying to fool anybody. It's a variation of a love story we've seen dozens of times. But the cast, the chemistry, the script and the production combine to good effect. Cute, funny, romantic, but subtly so, not overdone. Jason Sudeikis is hilarious, witty, charming in his quirky way. Good performances all around, good soundtrack, gave me a tear at the end. Time well spent.About my reviews: I do not offer a synopsis of the film -- you can get that anywhere and that does not constitute a meaningful review -- but rather my thoughts and feelings on the film that hopefully will be informative to you in deciding whether to invest 90-180 minutes of your life on it.My scale: 1-5 decreasing degrees of "terrible", with 5 being "mediocre"6- OK. Generally held my interest OR had reasonable cast and/or cinematography, might watch it again 7 - Good. My default rating for a movie I liked enough to watch again, but didn't rise to the upper echelons 8- Very Good. Would watch again and recommend to others 9- Outstanding. Would watch over and over; top 10% of my ratings 10 - A classic. (Less than 2% receive this rating).
... View MoreIs this predictable? Of course it is! Do the actors and the quirky dialog still warrant a viewing? Very much so, unless you have a total dislike for romantic comedies. Then this will feel like a drag to you. Don't do it to yourself and to the movie. Because obviously you'll have the worst time and therefor will rate it differently. Now, with that out of the way, Jason and Alison make a good match. And you can feel the chemistry in their first "meeting". Shouldn't they come together faster than? Well it wouldn't make for a feature length movie if the did. Also there's Amanda Peet to name another reason. Who wouldn't also fall in love with her? But of course, there is nothing like the first love ... at least in movies of course!
... View MoreGreat cast, wonderful chemistry, and downright touching performances help this wonderful screenplay achieve a home run. Plus, the director needs to take a bow. This was a great effort. The story had me in the first five minutes, but it did not go where I thought it was going, What a delightful surprise that was.The chemistry between the two leads could not have been better, and I ended up caring deeply about them.Lots of snappy dialog, which is where most of the laughs came from. I had the best time watching this one, and I was sad when it was over. This is definitely a "Must See" movie. To me, it was perfect.
... View MoreYou think you know exactly what this movie is going to be like, but it definitely manages to surprise you.It is an amazingly written story. The characters are weird and awkward at times, but in the most endearing way. There were some lines in this movie that were absolutely profound and they almost shocked you with the level of sincerity. There's plenty of laughter and plenty of over the top sex scenes (if that's your thing), but also plenty of real moments where you identify completely with the characters.Production wise I assume everything was great. I didn't anything out of order, but I didn't notice anything special either because I was completely caught up in the story. They say the best cinematography and sound is completely unnoticeable because it fits the story like a glove.I really enjoyed it a lot. It was surprising, which is not often the case in this genre.
