... View MoreFor Ricky, starting a new life means avenging his brother's death. By whatever means necessary, whether it be the cutting edge of a shiny steel knife blade, or the electrifying charge of a set of battery cables.Ricky is set in this blind journey of revenge leading ultimately to Mother Superior........You couldn't really say that this is a film, it's more of a really strange 'play for today' involving two very bad actors, with one having seen the original, trying to explain the narrative to another whom has never seen it.The film is nothing more than a horror film aficionado detailing the first film in a very forgettable franchise. And then he goes on a mini killing spree at the end, but taking in a movie beforehand with a girl who has been deceptive to him.And it's really all it is, a very pointless first two acts that is nothing but filler, followed by a really hilarious last act with out antagonist saying random zingers to people with mullets before shooting them. It's lazy film making of the highest order, and I wouldn't be surprised if this only took a couple of days to make. But if you haven't seen the first film, see this, because the first film features more in this than the actual film. How's that for a brain fryer??
... View MoreThis is a typical nostalgic eighties B-movie horror genre movie, which is ultimately great fun. With elements of suspense, mixed in with poor dialogue and even poorer acting then it was doomed to ultimate failure. This film destroyed the career of Eric Freeman who chance of another acting gig is as dead as the police man who he shot in the head in the film. They showed this film the other night of zone horror-UK and some bum has even put it on you tube. So if you and board (and I mean have nothing else whatsoever to do) then by all means watch this film, and prepare to be amazed. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this film and be kind to pigeons.
... View MoreBilly is dead and gone, but his younger brother Ricky (Eric Freeman) is eerily following in his footsteps. As Billy tells his story, we see how Billy became slowly unhinged and very unstable, killing whoever steps in his path. He escapes from the mental hospital to not only avenge Billy's death, but get his hands on the pretentious Mother Superior that caused Billy's terrible descent into madness. I love bad movies. It isn't that hard for me to garner cheesy enjoyment from them if done right. This movie isn't enjoyably bad, it's just bad. This almost feels like a pseudo documentary at times. A large part of this movie is flashback footage from the first movie. I didn't really see how that was a necessity and it just ended up looking cheap and lazy, lacking its own identity. After 40 minutes of pointless flashback footage, we do get some original footage, but Ricky's story isn't all that engaging. The first movie was a good psychological story and a solid horror film that wasn't afraid to cross boundaries. They could have really done something special with Ricky's storyline. In lieu of making a memorable storyline, they decided to pi******#@s all over it. A lot of it is trivial scenes that involve Ricky's upbringing and the torment he's gone through. From the very first line that was uttered. "F off, Doc", I knew I was in trouble. There are so many scenes that are laughable that I don't know where to begin. How about the "It's garbage day" line from Eric Freeman. We also get a scene with Ricky and his girlfriend watching Silent Night, Deadly Night in a movie theater (!) that failed miserably by trying to be clever. The finale is admittedly hilarious, with Ricky goes on a shooting rampage, randomly shooting anything in sight, and a decent battle with Ricky and Mother Superior. Don't expect much gore, it's pretty dry. Aside from some gory clips from the first, highlights involve death by electrocution and an umbrella. The acting is embarrassing. Eric Freeman is not only an amateur, but thoroughly unlikable. Billy was a sympathetic figure that made you feel sorry for his plight. This clown is a vile human being that I had no sympathy for. His character casts aspersions on people for his problems and has a phony tough guy routine to boot. I could have easily done without the faux evil laughter as well. This movie is a piece of garbage that should have never been made. I've never seen the 3 STV sequels, but I'm not looking forward to them. The original is a good horror movie that is unfairly misjudged. This sequel is a piece of crap that is all over the place and has no idea what it wants to be. Save your time and see the original instead. 2.8/10
... View MoreRemember the end of Silent Night Deadly Night (1984) when Billy was shot, you could see the open ending when his younger brother Ricky was seen at the end, his face said enough, let's look out for part 2. But what a disaster part 2 is.If you haven't seen the original one then don't worry because almost the first 40 minutes are all scene's taken from the original one interfered with Ricky being questioned by a psychiatrist. Glad that Ricky told us about Jennifer, not seen in part 1 but then again, it all looked ridiculous. The ho ho ho was changed into ha ha ha and it just didn't work, the acting by Eric Freeman as Ricky was silly and even sometimes laughable. The last 40 minutes with Jennifer are boring and again stupid, it's when Ricky caught his Santa Claus clothes that I thought, finally but even then it wasn't my thing. He do picks up the axe but before that he just shoots everybody. Figure that one, a slasher with, sigh, a gun. It maybe sounds perverted but the nudity parts are the most interesting thing here. Again we do have an open ending when Ricky is laying on the ground and we do see a knife in the hands of a female Santa, again easy to spot who that is. But for me after seen the The Howling franchise being the worst franchise ever I stopped. There are more Silent Night, Deadly Nights out but knowing that Ricky (Bill Moseley) is brought back to live in part 3 says enough, so why the open ending?Again another perfect example that horror was dying at the end of the eighties with a lot of horrors without the horror (killings off-screen). Just like it says on the sleeve, the nightmare is about to begin but then in a negative way.Gore 0/5 Nudity 2/5 Effects 1/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5
