Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

I liked this animated film but must admit that it really didn't look quite complete. That's because the pencil lines used for roughing in the cels has not been erased--making it look like a work in progress. Additionally, the story itself is pretty basic--like it might need to be hashed out a bit more. However, and I am glad that there is a 'however', the art style is very likable and Christa Moesker has a really nice way of drawing kids. While one reviewer compared it to "Cathy", it is more unique than that and seeing the kid scream and stomp and have a tantrum actually made me laugh because of how she was animated--the expressions were great. The cute face, though simple, worked really well. I hope to see more from Ms. Moesker as it shows a lot of style and skill.

I saw this in the theatrical compilation Spike and Mike's Classic Festival of Animation; it was neither the zenith or nadir of the show.A simplistically rendered girl (who looks much like the comic strip character "Cathy") screams and cries, and her environment changes to reflect her thoughts and mood. After she's finished, we discover she's been in a sort of time-out room, and her mother comes inside and gets her. That's about it. There is no underlying meaning or symbolism (that I picked up anyway). It seemed to be an exercise in animation, and an experiment in visually showing inner emotions. The one thing that is impressive is that this is the director's first work; while just average as a short, it's impressive for a first effort.
