Seducing Maarya Trailers

Vijay Chatterjee is a lonely widower and a successful restaurateur in Montreal. His thoroughly Westernized son Ashish works at his father's eatery but is more interested in the rock band that he started with his friend Michael. One day, Vijay meets the elegant, strikingly beautiful Maarya, who recently emigrated from Calcutta. He immediately hires her for his restaurant and introduces her to Ashish, thinking that she would make the perfect wife. Though Maarya soon realizes that the young Chatterjee has a closer relationship to Michael than she originally thought, she plays along, keeping the secret from Ashish's dad so that she can remain in the country. When the elder Chatterjee starts to pursue Maarya and her jealous knife-wielding brother arrives on the scene, this volatile situation turns downright explosive.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

don know what they are trying to say through this movie. I don even feel like talking about the story. There is not even a single character in the complete movie who is normal. Every relationship is shown with a distorted point of view. when the movie ends one feels why did i even bother to watch it. As for the story the the widower who owns a restaurant finds a prefect girl for his Canadian born son but ends up getting attracted to her. Then his son has his own secrets. The daughter in law(Nandana Sen) has a family secret when her brother comes in the picture. So things are all entwined and make no sense. It does not give a good feeling after watching it. Good actors like Nandana and Mohan Agashe have been wasted in this movie thoroughly. They wanted to talk about some sexual taboos but then they distracted to some other topics by bringing in some utterly bogus plots.

I think I loved this movie.I say I think because I am not sure I loved all of it...but maybe I did.It was so crazy with so many surprising and twisting turns to the story I felt like I was on a roller-coaster ride.The line of what was moving and dramatic and what was funny and perverse were so mixed.I did not know whether to laugh or squeal with discomfort. Having said all that...I think I love this movie,the premise is an arranged marriage between a gay son and a girl with an incredibly complicated background.The relationships between all the main 5 characters are eruptive and exciting to watch unfold.The actors are all great,especially Mohan Agashe as the doting father.Ryan Hollyman is hot and sexy as the heartfelt male love interest.Nadana Sen is also a pleasure to watch on screen. Overall it is a crazy ride and I think I loved it

Watching this movie was pure and unadulterated torture. It is a movie so appallingly bad that it cannot even be watched for poking fun at, like Plan 9 or Dolemite. Unlike Wood or Rudy Moore, this director has absolutely no endearing quality and comes across as a snob full of it. This movie is akin to ultra modern art, where a broken toilet or a piece of dog excrement is supposed have great artistic merit. I can count on fingers of one hand movies I've seen that are worse than Seducing Maarya. I shouldnt even talk about the story... let's just say it is terrible. Every scene is more awful than the previous. People laugh for no reason. And loudly too, and for minutes, and for the same (no) joke, till it drives you mad. Nandana Sen looks and acts horrid. The usually dependable Mohan Agashe is wasted and looks it. The less said about the direction and technical aspects the better. Please avoid this awful, awful mess.

There is one word that describes this work. Unconventional. This movie brings us to think of various social happenings which were unacceptable some years ago and now have blended with our society.Nandana Sen is awesome, her acting ...depiction of Maarya and her ability to relate to all the three characters in her life is commendable. Mohan Agashe is good too, as usual he carries out his role with such an ease.
