Salvage is a wonderful movie. It's very creepy and scary. A girl named Claire is driven home after work by someone named Duke who says he knows her boyfriend who was supposed to pick her up. Duke acts very creepy. After getting to her house, he punches her, stomps on her, drags her into the basement, and kills her. Then she wakes up at work as if it was a dream. This happens over and over again. It starts to seem as if something supernatural is going on. A student's back in Claire's class looks like her spine is extended out, demonic faces appear, her mother acts very strangely, and other things. A scene in a library tells you for sure that the supernatural is gong on. During the climax of the movie, it is revealed that Claire is actually Duke's soul in Hell. Duke was killed by a police officer and was being tortured in Hell based on what he did to Claire. Duke cut off Claire's face and put it over his so his punishment was to become Claire and have what he did to her done to him over and over. This isn't even remotely right. It's basically Claire's soul. So how is this punishment? It's creating another Claire basically and her being tortured. How is that Duke? But that doesn't ruin the movie obviously. It's a wonderful movie. My favorite line is when a police officer talking to Claire on the phone tells her he can't tell her what's going on but she's gonna find out soon enough. That is extremely creepy and you wonder what in the world is going on. Why in the world did he say that?

I was flipping through channels one day and I came across Salvage, by the Crook Brothers. There was a girl on the screen who reminded me of Alicia Silverstone being pulled into a basement by a menacing ginger.I was hooked.Salvage has some truly tense moments, accompanied by on-the-edge sound effects that seemed giallo-inspired, and solid acting. This movie is one of those rare kind of horror movies where the ending is actually good. And I mean REALLY good! It was a great twist. This film is proof that a low budget does not have to mean low quality. The plot, and the twist, is well thought out and creative. The acting is surprisingly well done by both killer and victim. He feels genuinely intimidating while she is easy to sympathize with. The only blemishes on this fine film would be the musical soundtrack, which was jarring with the atmosphere of the movie, and the acting of Claire's boyfriend, Jimmy. It wasn't that Jimmy was acted poorly, it just wasn't as good as the rest of the cast.

For those of you who hated this movie for its "cheap" storyline "bad" quality and "poor" soundtrack, go back to watching Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. (both great films), this movie isn't for you. the storyline was mindblowing, combined with the cruddy picture quality, and this movie is a hit. I have to admit, things didn't pop for me until SPOILERS! you see Claire writing her essay and you see that freaky face appear in the door behind her (i had to play it back twice i was so stunned) END OF SPOILERS. after that the movie shot sky high. for those who think the soundtrack was unimpressive, and didn't fit the film: i almost think that was what they were aiming for. the whole movie felt like a romance flick, with surreal horrifying scenes dropped on you when you least expect it. they wanted you to settle in and get relaxed, then KILL you with some weird phenomenon. over all one of the best films I've seen, and the best horror flick I've seen post 2005. 10/10. no contest

Salvage is the worst so called horror film I've ever seen. There is nothing remotely horrific about it. It doesn't deserve to be in a genre so fine. First of all i don't see how so many people can think this piece of crap such a great movie. If I wrote something as boring and utterly ridiculous as this i would be laughed at and too embarrassed to subject others to the stupidity of it. Second: the acting is terrible and the lead actress is excruciatingly ugly. Third: the story sucks, its been used before, and the excuse that its a cheap movie is no excuse. Read the summery on the back of the case, it reveals the whole story. I do not recommend that you watch this movie unless you have 80 minutes to waste on something that will leave you regretting that you watched it. I feel really bad for those Crooks and the irony of their name. All hail Anthony Perkins!!!!!!!!!
