A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

This is one of my favorite movies from the 80s. I love the entire plot. It has adventure and romance. I love Lambert Wilson in his role. He is so sexy. Gosh I just watched it tonight and I still love to look at him in the film. I know the movie was panned by the critics, but for the time period and for now I still think it is a great movie. Brooke Shields looks so beautiful as well. She played the role well. Cannot wait to find it on DVD to add to my collection.

I loved this movie when it first came out. Lambert Wilson is so handsome in this movie, I like him better with facial hair! Those eyes, his lips his demeanor and stature, God he makes me hot!! LOL! And I'm 56 years old! LOL! But he can still stir up some hot feelings in me! What a talented actor!! I love his eyes in this movie and the music is so haunting. If you're a sucker for romance than this movie is for you! It has a gorgeous love scene it. Not tawdry, or nasty, just beautiful the way two people in love should look on camera. I wish more romance movies were made this way! I wish Lambert Wilson would seriously think about doing more American movies! I didn't realize he was in the "Matrix Reloaded" movie, because personally, I haven't watched any of them. Also I didn't know he had a major role in the recent "Sahara" movie in 2005!! Wow! Where have you been all my life Lambert, c'mon. Please start doing more American movies! We LOVE YOU!And for you guys out there, Brooke's loves scenes are gorgeous, she's so beautiful and I think you guys would enjoy it!!:)

i don't understand why this film has been given so much stick.it is a corny 1983 adventure like all the others in the eighties and does a good job as a film of it nature and genre. there's lots of cheese, granted, but isn't that what these kind of films are suppose to be full of? Brooke Shields looks absolutely stunning through out,and although her gender bending sequence was a bad idea, its not her fault.how can you make such a stunning woman pass for a man.the water fall scene makes up for it all though. Brooke's performance was fine,as were the performances of her co stars though nobody stands out.this was a fun and enjoyable adventure film, just as it was made to be and deserves a lot more credit.

Ludicrous bodice-ripper starring the wooden Brook Shields as the kind of plucky romantic heroine who can change outfits in mid-kidnapping. Features such silliness as nomadic Bedouin chiefs who keep stone dungeons on hand, other Bedouin who have frosted lipstick and gold lame party outfits lying around, more Bedouin going on a human hunt using leopards instead of hounds (the leopards are kept on leashes where they can't chase anything), hairstyles that range from 1910 to 1983 (story set in the 1920's), incredible continuity problems with the trans-Sahara race that forms the basis of the plot (Brooke spends about a week in one spot, and suddenly the other drivers all appear at once; her two assistants appear and disappear randomly) etc. etc.Just about the dumbest, silliest, most badly acted, worst plotted excuse for a movie you'll ever see. Young Brooke Shields is so bad that you swear she couldn't get the lead in a a high school play, much less a real movie. Even by the low standards of the romance genre, it's pathetic.
