Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

One of the most important movies of the last 50 years. Thank You Rev C.L.Bryant and all involved - for this amazing documentary. Your bravery and leadership is so needed and so very important. I had tears in my eyes through the whole thing. The truth is powerful. I am so inspired by the leaders who appear in this documentary. Praise the Lord for those who find a way to break away from whatever darkness pervades the conditions of their birth and seek the light. Peer pressure is such a powerful thing, it takes a special mind to see beyond it. Those who condemn this movie are trapped in a spiral and don't realize they are being pulled down. Freedom is not just something we enjoy by the grace and wisdom of our Founding Fathers, it is a state of mind. Thank You again! I am blown away.

If the two reviews above mine are written by real people, they are being paid by the production company to give this turkey a good review.Starring Glenn Beck, Andrew Breitbart, Allen West, Herman Cain, and Rev. C.L. Bryant - you've got to be kidding me! Since its release in January 2012, it has grossed a whopping $48,000! And Freedomworks has $500K a month, for six months, set aside to promote it! $3 million to promote a film that in one year has made less than $50,000? What do you think is going on here? Runaway Slave indeed. Runaway VOMIT is more like it.This is not a documentary. It's a propaganda piece, and not worth anyone's time, not even moronic Glenn Beck fans.

Very informative if the people who need to see this would open their minds and eyes. The black community in general is being snowed by the liberals and they need to wake up. The democrat party in this country is who has destroyed the black home and it's time they realized it. They are being used by the left to further a horrible political agenda. This movie brings out the facts of this in an undeniable manner without being confrontational. The only criticism I have of the movie is the frequent use of rapid picture changing - I'm sure there's a name for it but I don't know what it is. It's almost frenetic and I wish they wouldn't have done it.All in all it is well worth two hours of your time.

Dr. MLK Jr's references a Negro spiritual in his "I Have a Dream Speech" - "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last." Runaway Slave asks: Are we really free? The film carries you through interview after interview around the country, garnering viewpoints from leading minds and influential people. It isn't about Democrats or Republicans; it's about independent thought instead of being enslaved to government or party politics. "It's OK to leave the plantation," as the movie assures viewers.I've been following this movie for quite some time now. Finally releasing in theaters, it does not fail to deliver technically. I could listen to the soundtrack over and over - and the editing style is beautifully modern and active; something uncommon for documentaries.Leaving the theater, I felt proud to be an American. Proud of where my country is after the turmoil of slavery and civil rights. I can't help but urge people to see it for themselves, and to think for themselves instead of going with what a party or organization tells you. Those who have rated this film one star have either not watched it or are incapable of giving it an honest review. Even the music and editing style earns it more than one star.
