Beautiful, moving film.

The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

I found the Rocky movies(1-5) at a garage sale and decided to check them out. hey are great, but I only saw the first 4 and found this to be the weakest. (Rocky 3 is the best.) While Rocky 4 is the most iconic-I feel it's kind of pointless. I gave this an 8/10-and 80% or a B if this were a test. The movie uses clip after clip of the first 3 films while the theme music plays. Without it, the movie would only be an hour long! In short, this is worth watching, just know out of the first 4, this is the weakest.

The development of Ivan Drago as a bad character, with his robot like training regimen is so well paralleled to Rocky Balboa's primitive training on the countryside. The contract between Rocky and the 6' 4" Russian makes Rocky such great under dog in the traditional Rocky theme.

1980s absurdity and cheesiness at its finest. It's like watching an average size man punch an under size toddler in the face over-and-over-and-over... I'd cheer for the toddler in that situation, not in this film though. Patriotic times, a much better sports movie about this period in the cold war is "Miracle". Real story, told real well.
