Memorable, crazy movie
... View MoreIt's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
... View MoreAt first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
... View MoreWhile it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
... View MoreI was so happy to find this at my local library. It is great to have these folks on stage once again. Who knows how much longer they will be around? The backing band really gets the sound of the original recordings in the live performances. The audience was really getting into the concert as well. Many singing along and some teary eyes, too. Highlights for me were Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Reflections, The Fleetwoods, Bobby Lewis, Lou Christie and Jay and the Americans. This is my second favorite concert, right after the "Concert for George"I don't see this available on DVD anymore. That is a shame. Check your local libraries and maybe you'll get lucky. There is a companion video to this one called "American Soundtrack: Rhythm, Love and Soul" that is also outstanding!
