It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

WRITE REVIEW BELOW: Was this movie worth it? In my opinion it was not because i feel like it didn't go into depth and only showed the exciting parts and the victory. I think there were more tough things that happend. Overall the movie could have been way better and you will see why i say this if you watch. The movie Red Tails came out in 2012 and made 50 million, written by John Ridley and directed by Anthony Hemingway. Some actors are Cuba Gooding jr., and Gerald McRaney, you would think the movie is awesome. Red tails had 9 award recommendations and won 2. It is rated 4.5 stars out of 10. This movie focuses on the tuskegee airmen, a group of all African American pilots during WWII. It shows segregation and problems they faced. As the movie begins it shows the relationships between a group of the fighters Marty " Easy" Julian, Joe "lightning" Little, Ray Gun and Smokey. The first part of the movie starts with showing how the Red Tails weren't getting any missions that involved actual fighting. As the movie continues it shows how they started getting opportunities to fight and protect some of the bombers. The best parts in this movie is the fighting scenes. The fighting parts and the sound effects seemed so real, that you will think it was real. Another good part is when Ray Gun got held as a prisoner of war at concentration camp, for me it showed a different side because I didn't know much about Prisoners of War. I would give this movie a 4.5 out of 10, it could have been way better and had so much more potential. In my opinion this movie is more entertaining than factual, i would recommend this movie to a group of 7-13 years old. There were some good parts like the fighting and that's about it. If i didn't know anything about the red tails i would have found it way more interesting. I don't think the movie showed much of the trails and hard times they faced, the film could have included much more on what they had faced being black pilots during WWII. You are suggesting

Why hate on the "RED TAILS'' movie if they was the first African American soldiers to successfully complete their training and enter the Army Air Corps and serve and protect our country. The movie was great for people to hate and say negative things about is very to me and for it to be an African American movie, it's hurtful to my culture. Red Tails tells you alot in what African Americans had to go through to have to fight racism. The moment in the movie that captures the spirit of the movie is when Lightning died, like that was the most upsetting scene to ever watch and also when he risk his life to kill that last plane takes alot for someone to do that. You have remember Joe Lightning Little was one of the brave pilots in the Tuskegee Airmen and he just loved to fly and the energy he had in putting his all into this air force was something special to remember about Lightning. The title Red Tails comes from the Tuskegee Airmen painting their plane tails red, that's how they got their nickname Red Tail Angels and it really stands out because they left a legacy that will forever be known. The director of the movie was a young brother named Anthony Hemingway and he did a lot of interesting tv series for an example "The Wire" and "The Under Ground." He had to be very passionate in during a serious movie like this and having a great success in it, the actors was great and it have you thinking that they are really the Tuskegee Airman by just how they play a big role in the movie. This movie is basically all about a crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program, having faced segregation while kept mostly on the ground during World War II. They risk their life out to fight and fly, they put their life on the line. Now in the movie it was a lot in what the Tuskegee Airmen had to go through in order to fly and serve their country. They was giving hand me down planes and basically treated them like trash all because they was African American but they give a lot of impact into this Aircraft and did every single thing that was giving but was not assigned to a mission until Colonel A.J Bullard had put his foot down for his pilots. Marty Julian goes by the nickname "Easy" was the leader of the Tuskegee Airmen, he was one of them people who put somebody he care about before himself and everytime they would fight, who would give them instructions in what's going down. Joe Little known as "Lightning" was the most brave and one of the best pilots ever because he was so confident in himself and he put his life on the line for a lot missions he had fought in. Main characters like Ray Gannon known as "Junior", Andrew Salem known as "Smokey", Samuel George known as 'Joker", David Watkins known as "Deke", and Declan Hall known as "Winky" played a big role in the fighting for their country, it was kind of a way in and way out situation.Something important that interested me about the movie was the message it gave me being a African American. The message was "Nothing's difficult. Everything's a challenge. Through adversity to the stars. From the last plane to the last bullet to the last minute to the last man WE FIGHT! WE FIGHT! We FIGHT!." What Marty Julian known as "Easy" was trying say was that being African American is not difficult because they got what they wanted and that was being able to fly and fight for his country, fighting and killing every single enemy is a challenge through the stars but it's going to take the last plane, bullet, minute, and man to do so. Lightning is the most intriguing character in the movie in my opinion and i have bring him up plenty of times in my essay but it's true, he is fascinating to watch. He makes you want to watch more and brings more excitement to the movie like you watching your favorite team win the super bowl, that's the spirit and enthusiasm he have as a person. I think both kids and adults would like it. The reason i say kids because it's not a boring movie so when kids see airplanes being blown up will make them want to watch more. Adults watching this movie and especially African American will love this movie because it tells a lot about us African Americans going through to fly and it's like them hateful white people thats talking smack on the user review doesn't know the meaning to the movie and just idiots saying the movie Red Tails is the worst. I've had seen a lot of crappy white movies that i've wasted my money on to go see in the movie theaters and i've felt the same way to them inconsiderate people. The movie was great movie, it was very entertaining and enjoyable to watch and it have a lot great scenes, i am very disappointed in what people had to say about this movie and people should be ashamed in themselves talking bad in such a substantial movie.

The trailer makes the movie look so much better, while the movie is very underwhelming. The audio is the worst part, the voices don't make sense and don't sound good. Everyone's voice is so bland, monotone and unbearable. The action scenes are decent, but the audio and voices just make you forget about them.

RED TAILS is George Lucas's throwback to old-fashioned war films where the emphasis is on action over complex storytelling and the like. I know this film was panned on release but I found myself enjoying it regardless, at least on a superficial level. It's not on par with something moving like GLORY but it does tick all of the right boxes and even though parts of the story are clichéd, I was still engaged in the tale. The script is nothing to write home about, playing out all of the usual characters from the wild man fighter ace to the gruff but proud officer and the rookie. The cast is undistinguished with only Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard standing out as the guys at the top. However, RED TAILS does offer plentiful action, and it's a lot better than I was expecting. Yes, Lucas is still obsessed with CGI, and absolutely everything in this film is a CGI effect (including a football!) but so much money has been spent in post production that the effects look remarkably good. This is a thrilling, old-fashioned adventure and one I had no qualms about enjoying. It's certainly better than the STAR WARS prequels...
