Horrible, fascist and poorly acted

It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

Don't waste your time. Everything about this movie is wrong. If you are an avid thriller fan you can easily guess the ending. After watching the movie for 30 minutes I couldn't bear it anymore. Wooden acting, bad dialogues no sorry worst clichéd dialogues. The story is also pathetic. In fact reviewing this title is a waste of time. Bad direction bad editing.. I am still continuing because of IMDb. "the minimum length for reviews is 10 lines of text." After 10 minutes you will loose interest to hear what the hell the characters are saying. next few minutes you will be cursing yourself for selecting this movie to watch. Eat ice cream or drink a beer because that will be more entertaining than to watch this garbage.

If the trailer is anything to go by and I think it's a pretty good indicator of what's in store then this one does not merit watching at all. The acting seems pretty atrocious and I echo what the one other reviewer that isn't linked to the movie has already said...the acting lacks believability...it's as wooden as hell.If the rest of the picture is well scripted and acted then why would they have chosen the worst 2 minutes of the movie as it's showcase. I know shill voters want to get their picture watched...did it ever occur to them that people would probably be more inclined to watch it if it wasn't such poorly put together garbage. The trailer would seem to suggest a quality that would make even the most amateur film student offering look like the work of Coppola in comparison.

From the first moody monologue, it's clear that Red Herring wants to create a brooding detective story. It's utterly unfortunate that none of its production aspects remotely come close to create any decent action or thriller. This is practically a bad procedural cop showing, perhaps on par or even inferior to an episode of drama television series.Story follows a detective who is friend with the suspect of his investigation. You'll notice soon that the main protagonist is trying to pull off Sin City with incredibly vexing amount of musing. He would daydream about his girl and comments about how bad the case is, which happens too many times it becomes comical.Acting barely holds up in a few scenes yet falls apart in the rest, as though the characters themselves are bored. The movie also incorporates typical Russian henchmen, who might just have the worst accent in silver screen. I usually don't nitpick about accent, it's difficult to deliver precisely and if there's adequate effort it should be passable, but the accent here couldn't be less convincing even if they try to.There are a few other technical flaws, but the most problematic is how boring this movie is. Red Herring is literally repetitive police leg works where neither the case nor the characters have any resemblance of appeal.

My definition for Red Herrings are the shill votes for this film, there is no way this is anywhere near a 10, well unless your scale is comparing it to Ben & Arthur or Shark Attack 3 Megalodon even then it should only scrape a 7.First the acting well its on a par with your typical amateur play shown at your local village hall, not good, not bad but meh!Wasn't too happy about the fast forward sequences at the beginning thought my laptop had picked up a virus.Camera work was pretty good I thought, but again this was over shadowed by the low grade acting, I kept shouting CUT now lets do that scene again and this time people say the lines with conviction. What did surprise me was the guy who played the Russian Kyusovich, I couldn't work out his accent, I thought he sounded more like a Mexican until I checked back here and discovered he was born in Russia. So there you go, what do I know, I'm probably way too fussy but seriously it's worth a 4/10 which will be nearer the mark than the 8.7 it was this morning.
