There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

Foreign made films have a bad reputation for being long and boring. This is simply not true. Some of the best movies I have seen (including this one, obviously) were made in other countries. I must warn you, though, that since it is foreign it must be watched with English subtitles or dubbing.Although it takes a little while to develop, once we get to the actual creature hunt, it was worth it. The creature itself (I won't say what it was, for fear of spoiling it) looks awesome and scary. The situations the characters get in make you wonder, "How are they going to get out of this?" It's not a B movie at all; the special effects and acting are nothing to be laughed at. It is exciting and the characters have a realistic quality.Looking back, I don't even recall reading the subtitles - it was so good I remember it as if all the lines were English. In short, "Ragnarok" is great adventure story worthy of a watch.

Good special effects and visual effects.fine acting. Boring predictable plot with a central flaw. A nest of monsters are supposed to have survived hundreds of years in what is the now Russia/Norway border. However it is clear there were military bases all around the lake and on the island they live in and on.

I liked this film. It was a solid 7 until the end. I'll get to that in a moment. As others have mentioned, the landscape is gorgeous, the CGI is better than average, and the acting was nowhere near as bad as the Nords think it is. It's a good popcorn movie. I especially liked the Soviet link. Where the story lost its imagination was first, the guide (who ended up a stock character) and second, the ending, where I saw very little Ragnarok and far too much Jurassic Park III. I almost subtracted another vote for calling the thief Allan, but I'm feeling generous (if you don't understand why, go watch Jurassic Park III). Regrettably, novelty and originality is often hard to find. Oh, well. I'd watch it again, though.

Generally, I like this movie. This movie is surely made for family, I mean a happy family with a loving parent and their adorable children. I watch some great Norway movie like The Girl Trilogy, Hunt, Headhunter etc. and I was seriously thought that this movie is one of their kind too. Violence, thriller, mind-boggling but it's totally not. Its a family movie, like other critics said its just some kind of Spielberg's stuff made in Norway. I expecting so much but I still satisfied because it contain some fun adventure, good action, and some suspense moment that make me shudder. You feel weird about a monster movie without violence? I don't think Ultraman have violence too. Anyway I think everyone will like this movie because its just some simple movie with sufficient amount of tension, enjoy it. I like the title Ragnarok, it remind me about an online game I guess.
