Sorry, this movie sucks
... View MoreAlthough I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
... View MoreThe story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

... View MoreEven when the Pink Panther series wasn't at its best, there was still enough to be entertained by. Put-Put, Pink doesn't see the series or Pinky at their best, even then though it's still quite good. The story does have a sense of fun and doesn't make the mistake of being dull but structurally and narratively there isn't a huge amount to it and it is rather routine. The animation quality has also been better, the style is still simple(not a problem, the simplicity has always been part of the series' charm) but with a lack of elegance in the drawings and the colours are not as vibrant. The music is outstanding though, very easy to remember and adds a lot of character and upbeat jazzy style. And the theme tune is one that you can not tire of even after hearing it umpteen times. The gags are mostly amusing more than they are laugh-out-loud hilarious, but none of them fall into the unfunny category. Faring best is the ending and the one with the third motorcycle. Pinky is cool, fun and likable still as a character though his antics are also inept, in an appealing way though. The motorcycle cop is a great supporting character, one that brings some good comedy and also a character that you feel some empathy for. To conclude, a quite good cartoon from the Pink Panther series but there's been better before Put-Put, Pink and since. 7/10 Bethany Cox
... View MoreThis cartoon has got to be one of Pink Panther's most simplistic when it comes to story and artwork. The story is fun, even if not terrific. The artwork is relatively poor, even for the standards of these cartoons.Yet, like in any of these cartoons, Pinky finds himself into a new challenge on this one. Here, he builds and drives motorcycles. However, things with the motorcycle go wrong and he sees himself unable to control the motorcycle driving backwards at a dangerous speed, which leads him to confrontations with a police man - who, actually and as a coincidence, happens to drive a motorcycle as well.Anyway, there are moments of fun and moments that makes one give some laughters. Classic humor, what more can I say? Like I said, it's not much of a story, but still is entertaining and enjoyable enough.
... View MoreThis short is reasonably good, with some decent gags, though it gets a bit predictable in spots. I want to discuss this in some detail, so here there be spoilers: The Pink Panther wants to build and ride a motorcycle (there's a recipe for disaster right there), but has trouble getting it out of reverse, which helps attract the attention of a motorcycle cop who looks like he could be the "Little White Guy" (the Pink Panther's usual foil) or a close relative. From here on in, what happens to the poor cop makes it clear that this just wasn't his day! The Pink Panther and machinery don't typically work and play well together. Okay-virtually nothing and the Pink Panther work and play well together. But the net loser here is the motorcycle cop! He gets flattened and otherwise injured throughout this short, until he finally catches his Panther and puts him in a cell. The ending is a scream and makes the whole thing worth seeing. This short is on the five disc Pink Panther Classic Cartoon Collection and it and the Collection are well worth seeing. Recommended.
