... View MoreGamecocks said it very well - if you don't get goose bumps during the final scene of this movie you can't be human. That must explain why I have watched that scene about 50 times on Utube. You can find it by entering 'Utube I cross my heart' on the AOL search bar. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. I have also watched the entire movie more than five times - and if you don't want to purchase the DVD, you can watch it on Utube for nothing. One scene involves Wyatt, Dusty's off stage name, being given a beat down by Al outside a bar in the evening when it was raining, since Al was annoying Harley. Wyatt ends up in the mud, looking up at Harley. Harley gets Al away from Wyatt by pinching his hand in the door of her truck and then slamming the door in his face, breaking his nose. By the way, by now I have fallen in love with Harley, and likely will always love her. Harley takes Wyatt to her home, and invites him to breakfast. When Wyatt sees Al driving up in his pickup, then annoying Harley again, he walks out to where they are. Al, who has tape on his nose and a bandage on his right hand, asks Wyatt if he wants another beat down. Wyatt shoves Al, who is much bigger than Wyatt is, and Wyatt says 'absolutely', a great use of a word reflecting the quality of this film. Al swings his fist at Wyatt, but Wyatt ducks under it, then breaks Al's nose for a second time. On his way back to Harley's house, Wyatt steps on Al's injured hand.
... View MorePure Country is a 1992 film released by Warner Bros. Pictures starring George Strait ("The King of Country Music"), Lesley Ann Warren, and Isabel Glasser. The film is about fictional country singer Dusty Wyatt Chandler (George Strait), who has had enough of the light shows and smoke at his concerts and to him, he feels like a "dancing chicken" as he talked to his best friend Earl (John Doe). Tired of feeling like a "dancing chicken" he decides to "take a walk" back to his hometown to rediscover his country roots and along the way he finds true love in Harley Tucker (Isabel Glasser). While he was gone, though, one of the members of his friend Lula's (Lesley Ann Warren) road crew, Buddy Jackson (Kyle Chandler), takes over and moonlights as Dusty at one of their shows and gets the idea to present the video to a record producer. Now, it's up to Dusty to set things right. With a little help from his Grandma and his friends, there's nothing this cowboy can't handle. I first saw this on CMT last July and I loved every moment of it! I am a fan of country music. While George Strait isn't my favorite singer, he's in my top 5 for sure! My favorite songs from this movie are "Heartland", "Where the Sidewalk Ends", and "Cross My Heart", which is one of Strait's best songs and possibly the song that'll be played at my wedding (haven't decided on this or "Forever and Ever, Amen" by Randy Travis). Every song in the movie is great though and the soundtrack is worth the buy! This in my opinion is great entertainment for the whole family. It has a great love story, great country music, and good lessons. It's rated PG, but there's very little swearing in this movie. If you're a country fan and haven't seen this yet, watch it! Even if you're not a fan of country music, check it out anyways! Rating: 10/10!!!
... View MoreI was Living in Terrell Tx when this movie was filmed at Don Gay's ranch (former PBR champ) on County rd 353 i believe. I watched the filming of this movie and every time it is on TV i watch it or at least flick back and forth. It is a good movie to watch when you need to clear your head because as he is reminiscing you do the same. I highly recommend this movie for anyone. The Story line in this movie is one of the best that i have seen it ties in friendship, and relationship and shows that no matter how bad things seem to be sometimes if you follow your roots you can rediscover who you really are and that is important these days. The whole family can watch this movie. It is not only worth watching but a worth wild add to your DVD collection
... View More"Our love is unconditional" That and so much more. George Strait can bring a tear to your eye in "Pure Country", the story of a country artist, Dusty Chandler, being driven over the edge by his manager, and her presentation of his show. So, he leaves his band, his tour, his manager, and his life behind while he tries to find himself. Along the way though, he finds a girl that he falls in love with. And she is his inspiration to go back on tour and start performing again. Love is an important aspect of life, and it knows no boundaries.Although, while Dusty is gone from his tour, one of his band members impersonates him, and Dusty can hold a grudge too! Some parts funny, some sad, some romance along the way. All this and more makes for a great movie. Don't take my word for it, watch it yourself, and enjoy.
