The filmmaker became immersed in the world of hip hop artist Half-A-Mill, and we as viewers get the benefit of that dedication.Through watching this rapper put out his first record with the help of his friends, a world opens up to us with the kind of intricate details you can't fake. You have to have some patience in the beginning as the world of the documentary unfolds around you, but you're well-rewarded. "Player Hating" is a unique look at the American dream.
