Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

They don't make them like this anymore.Fun 1953 sci-fi/horror from director W. Lee Wilder. This one involves an alien whom has landed on earth, apparently inadvertently. As the frightened natives of this weird little planet run around in circles for awhile, the space visitor remains elusive until he feels the time is right to attempt contact. His efforts are not well-received, at which point he must continue his time on the lam. He is pursued by a diligent cop, a federal officer, a boring military man, a dusty scientist, a nosy reporter, a cute chick, and her goofy husband.Fun for aficionados of classic black-n-white 50's B-movies.

So an alien crash-lands on Earth, kills a couple of people because they didn't like his spacesuit, it scared them. The alien runs into other humans and they start reporting their encounter to officials. The alien takes off his spacesuit and is the invisible alien running around trying to get away from Earth's government. He ends up with them, wearing only his helmet and he tries to communicate with the people by some type of morse code but the humans can't figure out what he's trying to communicate to them. This one has it's ups and down, some boring stuff and some entertaining stuff. As others have mentioned, this film is very talky without much action most of the time (except for the beginning and ending).I liked it to a degree but it's definitely not on my toplist of 1950s Sci-Fi.4/10

Although I grew up watching old sci-fi and horror films on TV in the 60's, this is one I don't remember seeing. Not until I got it in a Mill Creek collection of 100 Sci- Fi Classics. What appealed to me immediately was that it was reminiscent of my many favorites from the 50's; pure nostalgia. The story of an alien from another planet, crash landing off the coast of L.A. and simply trying to escape capture to survive, killing as necessary, is serviceable yet certainly could have been portrayed more compellingly. The acting is typical 'B' melodrama, the effects are fairly good for the era, and the story is just OK. Staging much of it as a police procedural, which was very popular at the time, is an effective budget device. I don't think it's a stretch to suppose that the budget and shooting schedule were insufficient to do much more with the film. That and it's seventy-two minute run time don't allow for additional story details, action sequences, nor engaging characterization. Not that Billy Wilder's little brother, W. Lee Wilder had what it took to make more out of such meager resources, anyway.Be that as it may, Wilder did a decent job, as he did with several other lesser 'B' classics including, "Killers From Space," "The Man Without a Body," and "Once a Thief," which just might be his masterpiece.Nonetheless, this modest piece of nostalgia has an effective soundtrack featuring theremin and an eerie choir. I usually half-watch it when I'm busy doing something else. Far from great, but I still like it.

An alien being with the power of invisibility lands in Santa Monica.Killing two people who attacked him due to the menacing appearance of his spacesuit, the creature takes it off while being pursued by government authorities. Now that he's naked and apparently not wearing clothes under his space suit, he's invisible! It's a very low budget B movie in B&W but it largely works as long as you realize what it's limitations are. There's a lot of up front talking and little action. This goes on for quite a while. Like most of the movie. I guess the who idea of making the space man invisible saved budget.
