In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.

Okay, so it's not the GREATEST Bollywood movie, and sure the plot has been lifted - I've seen a LOT of lifted plots from Hollywood, including one of "Analyze This". Doesn't diminish my enjoyment of the movie in the least. In fact, as an intense movie fan much like yourselves, I find it interesting to see how the story will play out with a Bollywood twist.Actually, one of my favorite movies is "Bride & Prejudice", a storyline completely and totally lifted from Jane Austen (AND a few movie versions of the same story, here and there), and it was brilliant in my opinion. There isn't a story out there that hasn't already been told in some other way, and instead of being upset that his work was lifted, I would think that the original writer of "Hitch" might see it as "Imitation is the highest form of praise". It means "Hitch" was a good movie and the story was good enough to be used with a dash of curry to spice it up a bit. However, I would have at least given him a credit in the form of a "Inspired by" note in the titles. On that point, everyone is absolutely correct.Plagiarism in the form of completely lifting entire plots and even scenes is indeed pushing it, but I doubt there will be any court hearings over it, as I don't exactly see people passing over "Hitch" in favor of "Partner" in their local video store. However, "Partner" WILL, more than likely, direct viewers to go and do as you all say here - go rent "Hitch" and give it a watch! I take Bollywood in the way it is meant - to entertain, inspire, and teach life lessons so sweetly, even Aristotle couldn't pass it up! Besides, when the heroes are as handsome as Salman Khan, who can help but watch and get addicted?

Honestly, I have to admit that I go and see certain stupid films based on the hype they have generated or are currently generating. This dumb Salman Khan & Govinda feature is one of those stupid films. Okay, by now we've all seen 'Hitch' starring Will Smith as a date doctor trying to help out odd people find true. Then why would we need to see Salman Khan re-enact this? Therein lies the $64,000 question. In case you were wondering, Govinda plays the oddball in search of the love of his life (an unreachable socialite) played by Katrina Kaif.Lara Dutta is along to play Sallu's Eva Mendes, and Sallu's real-life love Kaif pretty much plays her character like every role you've see her in thus far, no stretch no acting required. And for nearly three and a half hours we get tortured with spoofs of other Bollywood films and characters or better yet we get treated to low rate performances of past hit films. Rajpal Yadav co-stars. F

See the thing with this movie is that its one of those movies where you just sit in front of the TV with your GF or friends and just have a cracking time laughing at the stuff that is going on in the movie...yes there are parts in the movie where your saying to yourself "are you kidding me" and then yes the direction is not as good as i would like to see with this script. But there are tons of movies in Bollywood that have horrible direction, horrible actors and horrible scripts. This one at least has actors worth watching (lara datta is gorgeous, Salman and Govinda are just hilarious) has a good script (due to hitch) but yes the direction is horrible. At the same time its a fun movie to watch on a night when you just want to relax and have a couple of laughs with your buddies.

As anyone can tell, Partner is just copied from Hitch. Some scenes were funny, but all I could think of was comparing "Hitch" with "Partner". Partner had all the scenes from "Hitch" and just extended it by adding some long songs. I'd say the movie is average, but "Hitch" is way above average. I like the originality in "Hitch", but I hated the plagiarism. Salman Khan/Love Guru is Will Smith/Hitch, Lara Dutta is Eva Mendez who both have the same job in the movies. Govinda is Kevin James/Albert Brennamin. Katrina Kaif is Amber Valetta/Allegra Cole. I definitely encourage people in India to see it only if they haven't seen Hitch. I encourage more for people to see Hicth. Hitch is 100% pure original and barely has any flaws.
