Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

This is my first review. I wanted to do this review because I think the film wasn't promoted the right way, you know, they made it seem as the typical dying girl who falls in love story, but the movie is so much more than that. The trailer doesn't do it justice. When you watch the trailer you think, ''oh another movie about a dying girl who wants to fulfill a list and she falls in love with a handsome guy'', because that's what I thought. But the movie is not about that, it's not about her romance with Adam or her bucket list. It's just about her, and life itself I think, it's about enjoying whatever time we've got left; and of course, the emotional and physical struggles of having cancer. And I don't understand why many synopsis of the movie point out her ''desire of losing her virginity'', here in IMDb it says ''Topping the list is her desire to lose her virginity.'' Like, seriously? The movie is not about that, she never actually shows a desire to lose her virginity, and like I said, the list is just something she had, the movie is not about the list. And when it comes to technical aspects, I think the acting was amazing, very believable. And the cinematography was beautiful, the film has a very calm and smooth feeling, I don't know. The part where she's in the forest is beautiful, as well as the scenes where it is winter. Remarkable scenes are when the nurse tell Tessa what is going to be like dying and of course, the last part; It makes you feel something. The score is also beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was the intro, I think it was very off place, but the rest is beautiful. Very underrated film. You may think I am rating this too high but I don't like to be too harsh when it comes to reviewing films because there's such a huge effort put behind these things, and this one has its flaws of course, but it works for the most part; like I said, very underrated and very beautiful.

The premise is a bit of a drag but it's a drama, and a really good one at that. The film is emotional, moving and funny. It's an amazing experience, you get into Tessa's mind and you understand the character. She's sweet strong and clearly has grown with all that's happen to her but she's still a teenager with her fears and her aspirations. She sort of wants her life back and experience things like any regular teenager. The cast is amazing, they make sense, it's a great ensemble. Paddy Considine is so good in this movie, such a great dad and I love the fact that the dad is the one facing things head on, not running away, denying or escaping the hardship. Olivia Williams is perfect as the flawed mother. Edgar Canham is so sweet and brilliant I love how they wrote it and how he played it.Jeremy Irvine is not just the pretty boy next door and played Adam with an innocence that was perfect for the role. Kaya Scodelario is also a gem in the movie and she might be playing another flawed teenager but her relationship with Tessa (Dakota Fanning) is very much how I would expect a real friend to be when her best friend is dealing with cancer. The movie feel very artistic, truthful and honest. The Family and friends are very real which gives the film a raw aspect even though it is made with taste and humor. Now is Good shows a different side of young people, the film is intelligent, inspirational and is not just about falling in love with someone and having sex with them. I think the movie does cancer justice, it's not sugar coating things or getting horribly pitiful. The film is wrapped with humor but hits the emotional notes. You'll probably be touched watching and it'll stay with you. The cast brought weight and humor to the film. It was one of the best movie I've seen in 2012 I am so glad I saw it. I would highly recommend the film.@wornoutspines

For those who remember A Walk to Remember this is a more realistic, intelligently scripted and more grown up movie about a girl dying of cancer and finding love before she dies. She has a to do list before she dies. Even though we have seen this kind of story before, it actually is able to avoid having a clichéd feel to it.Production is quite attractive. The filming in the South of England is quite beautiful especially the coastline.Dakota Fanning doesn't try too hard to do a British accent and that's good. She gives more of a approximation of one. Sometimes her words aren't that clear compared to her co-stars. But her acting is good and she looks sickly enough without overdoing it. Jeremy Irvine of War Horse plays her love interest and he is earnest and believable. The father is well played by Paddy Considine and his moments are touching but not sentimental. Olivia Williams plays her mother who surprisingly isn't so hands on with the care.Maybe it isn't such a good thing to encourage shop lifting and drug taking which were on her to do list. But in the end it isn't the main point of the movie.Overall worth a watch. For this kind of dying young movie it's quite good.

Alright, where to start.....where to start? personally, I find the title of the film is quite coy, the novel called 'before i die' I think it's more suitable with that, It kinda attracts people to see the film cos it's about a dying person, most people tend to see this kind of film and it eventually turn out good for them and they're satisfied with it. But, the title doesn't really affect anything. I find this movie rather boring or interesting, Dakota Fanning's accent is all over the place but let's be honest, she's good, not all American could pull it off. She's one of the youngest to be ever nominated at SAG Award, she's been described as 'mini Meryl Streep' and has been in this industry since she was 6.This is like another teen drama about dying person, 'My Sister's Keeper' for example, it has pretty much same plot, it's predictable. You make a wish list, fulfill them and then die, everyone knows how it ends. But if I have to choose, I'd probably go for 'My sister's Keeper'. Now Is Good has a very decent performance but it doesn't have anything 'new' or 'fresh' to deliver. Honestly, I don't quite understand why no American distributors want to pick up this film, it could do really well in US I'm sure. You have the good looking 'War Horse' breakout star Jeremy Irvine and Dakota Fanning an American as the lead role, and she's speaking British accent, what else do you want?If you're an emotional person, this is your cup of tea and you'll need tissues standing by cos' it is a weepie film but it's still an entertainment after all. Personally, I love this film, I could totally relate to the characters, amazing performances. It's just ashamed that this film is overlooked, I'm not saying that it's awards-worthy but it is definitely box office worthy. I rate this film 8/10 or positive review.
