Dreadfully Boring
... View MoreBest movie ever!
... View MoreThis movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
... View MoreExcellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
... View More"New Order Story" is one of the best music documentaries I've ever seen. >From the tragic fall of Ian Curtis and Joy Division, to the peak of success as one of the worlds leading "pop" bands. The documentary is filled with familiar faces, including New Order members themselves, speaking about their career and what not. I felt that this film really conveyed a good insight into what the people in New Order are like, seeing as they are a somewhat "quiet" band when it comes to the media. Also, "New Order Story" is an amazing collection of music videos and is perfect for anyone that likes such things. I understand that there are more than one version available, at least one of which is shorter and far less cool. So do your homework before buying this one.
... View MoreI didn't appreciate Bono popping up on screen in those annoying rock-star sunglasses murdering "Love Will Tear Us Apart". Also, much as I love Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant was irritating when he couldn't decide what his favourite NO song was. On the other hand, Keith Allen was as great as ever, and it was good to see Barney, Peter, Gill and Steven cut loose and enjoy themselves. It's also nice to see rare promo videos such as "Atmosphere" and live performances from Joy Division/New Order.Less Bono, less of Tony Wilson, more promos., this would have been the perfect video for the perfect band
... View More.... and they should also say "never watch documentaries about them." While this is informative, and insightful, and the promos in the video release are great, to be honest I preferred the aloof, inscrutable NO. And I HATED the moment when Bono (BONO!) suddenly interrupts love will tear us apart to deliver his own monstrous rendition. Worth a look, but its always a little sad to lose something of mystique.
... View MoreThe narration is a bit flaky but this is a good tale of the rise of New Order. Probably only NO junkies will love it. Being a NO junkie myself, I absolutely enjoyed it. The background about Joy Division helps explain a lot. The interviews with NO are very funny considering how enigmatic the band members can be.
