While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

Marc Wootton returns as the childlike incompetent teacher's assistant Mr Poppy and irritates the hell out of everyone including this viewer.David Tennant in a dual role is the new teacher Mr Donald Peterson who is tormented by Mr Poppy and ends up taking the schoolkids over the mountains of Wales to enter the National 'Song for Christmas' Competition, mainly because Mr Shakespeare from the posh rival school switched the road signs. However Mr Shakespeare meets his match in Mr Roderick Peterson, a celebrated musical director, also a cheat and Donald's twin brother who conspires to do whatever it takes to succeed. The film gives the impression that it had a semi finished script with some ad libbing from the kids. You get a bit of riffing of The X Factor audition stage. The infantile plot runs out of steam long before the finish line but then you end up with a lot of singing and dancing from the kids. All very forgettable and I doubt even the kids would enjoy it much.

There are many out there who have no sense of fun anymore and have hammered this film. The truth is it's not an Oscar winner but it's fun. We sat in a packed cinema screen of all ages who laughed their way through with a few tears in places and afterwards left feeling good. That's what this film does and all those who have seen it I know say the same - yes it's silly and childish - but it's meant to be!Ignore the so called film experts - we can all call ourselves that and justify it in some way - and just enjoy it for what it is, a simple film which doesn't take itself seriously with a great message running through it.

Mr Peterson comes to teach just before Christmas at a primary school, only to find himself and his class hijacked by an insane classroom assistant who takes them off to a televised Christmas song contest in Wales.Three years after Nativity!, this sequel reunites 3 of the cast - Pam Ferris as head teacher Mrs Bevan, Jascon Watkins as Mr Shakespeare, excessively competitive teacher from the rival posh school, and Marc Wootton as preposterous child-man Mr Poppy. As before, Mr Poppy's inability to apply anything approaching adult responsibility to any aspect of his life is what drives this film. Reality is miles away - on a different planet. Like Mr Poppy himself, the film is full of childish nonsense, and if you can't step back from adulthood and accept that as the basis on which the film is built, you are going to hate it.I had a similar experience here as before - I had forgotten how irritating Mr Poppy is, and that was my initial reaction. But, as I began to adjust my mindset, I started to pick up on the fact that he is a warm-hearted character (a complete lunatic, yes, but a kind, well-meaning one) and I was happy to go along with the essential daftness.David Tennant does his best with the different characters of twin brothers, and Jessica Hynes is great fun as a Welsh diva. The kids are, to be frank, not very good, and the end section (which is largely the concert) features a large number of cheesy Christmas songs which aren't as funny as they are intended to be. But it raised some chuckles nonetheless.

Nativity 2 is a welcome addition to the winter holiday with great chemistry between David Tennant and Mac Wootton)When teacher, Donald Peterson (David Tennant) takes a job at StvBernadette's he has a hard time earning he respect of his pupils but a even harder time being accepted by classroom assistant Mr Poppy, (Wootton) who is still struggling to accept the departure of the previous teacher. On top of all that Mr Poppy convinces Mr Peterson to enter the class for the'Sing a Song for Christmas' competition in Wales but he's less keen when he finds out his brother, Roderick who is highly competitive is also competing. David Tennant once again perfects another role. Although both Pam Ferris and Marc Wootton give great contributions also.Nativity 2 goes along the same heart warming and comical approach and has something for children and adults alike.
