I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

This is funny. It's a great parody of relationship breakups when one of them is nuts. Get serious folks. It's not casablanca.

As soon as I saw Anna Faris I was clear what kind of movie this is, but Uma Thurman in leading role gave me false hope that maybe I just have prejudice. Well, some prejudices are here for a reason. We all know Anna from Scary Movie franchise. Fans of it will probably enjoy this movie, the rest of you should skip it. Movie is slightly retarded and being a comedy is not good excuse. For good comedy you need story either completely retarded or not retarded at all. Slightly retarded simply is not funny. This movie is somewhat entertaining nonsense with just few inspiring scenes and that's it.5/10 (if there's no shark scene I would rate it even lower)

The title of this movie sounds somewhat enticing - New York building designer guy Matt Saunders (Luke Wilson) dumps Jenny Johnson (Jenny Johnson), a reluctant superhero known as G-Girl. As revenge, she uses her powers to make Matt's life miserable. While Matt courts his beautiful work partner Hannah (Anna Faris), G-Girl's enemy and former sweetheart, Professor Bedlam (Eddie Izzard), attempts to use Matt to lure Jenny to strip her superpowers. This movie obviously uses the superhero formula, but mixes all the action and adventure with corny jokes, forced comedy and mostly lame acting. There are some light-hearted and action-packed moments (with cool special effects), particularly involving Matt's frustrated chemistry with Jenny and her using her superpowers in the city. Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman's acting were OK, Anna Faris was descent, but Rainn Wilson was plain annoying. The story was below average overall as the plot dragged somewhat - very little substance or suspense, mostly relying on the cheap jokes and uninspiring "superhero" action. I was surprised to learn that Ivan Reitman actually directed this film. After directing great movie hits such as Ghostbusters and Kindergarten Cop, this movie is a bit of a let-down coming from him.Bottom line, it wouldn't hurt to spend your time watching something else.Grade D

Whats wrong with people? OK, it's not a classic but nevertheless My Super Ex-Girlfriend is an entertaining, engaging movie with an interesting storyline. in fact, the premise is brilliant and could have been done in all kinds of different ways. What is engaging about the movie is that though a super-heroine and her powers are at the centre of the action, the other characters are guy or gal next door. We can all identify with this kind of situation. Many of us have been in it, but we can only imagine what it would be like if the ex- girlfriend had the powers of a super-heroine - or we can watch My Super Ex-Girlfriend. To say this movie is in any way sexist is absurd. More sexy than sexist. The scene above Times Square fulfils a long held fantasy of mine. I loved the New York setting and there are some great views of the city. For me, all the actors were great, especially Uma Thurman. Saw it on Film4 in the UK, 8 Jan 11.
