My Run Trailers

After tragically losing his wife to breast cancer and struggling to raise three young children on his own, real life super hero and modern day Forrest Gump, Terry Hitchcock seized on an idea. He wanted to accomplish the impossible: run 75 consecutive marathons in 75 consecutive days to bring attention to the incredibly difficult lives of single-parent families. He ran in spite of freezing rain and unbearable heat, in spite of chest pains and bone fractures that wracked his 57-year-old body. He just kept running - each day, every day - strengthening an unbreakable bond between father and son--- not stopping until he broke the finish line tape in Atlanta. MY RUN is more than a film about a guy running multiple marathons; it's a film about the daily marathons we all run in life.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

loved it. my hero was chris, terry's son. sitting in that car alone after everyone bailed. chris washed the clothes, overcoming his shyness called the media, washed terry's clothes, changed terry's clothes and socks, got the food, prepared the food and special drinks, played nurse and confidant, put terry to bed, woke him up, encouraged him, hugged him, warned him to get medical care, AND CHRIS baked in their old auto with no air conditioning in 105 degree weather to support his father, a marathoner. i have run over 25 marathons. i believe anyone can run a marathon in 8 hours. i do not know many people who can make the commitment to sit in a hot car for for a marathoner for 75 days;relative or not.

Terry Hitchcock's story is a story about a very sincere and good family man who despite doctors, friends, the media and everyone else in between telling him he couldn't do the run, Terry believed in himself and did the run for single parent families at all costs. It is a true story of trials and tribulations of Terrys personal and business life.Imagine running from Minneapolis to Atlanta...2,000 miles on foot. Terry tells the story of that journey and the cool people he met and things he saw along the way.Terry strikes me as a guy who doesn't just talk the talk... he walks the walk.. He says "Nothing is impossible" and proved it in his own life before telling others they can do the same. This is a heartfelt, emotional and truly inspirational clean and family friendly movie I will be buying it when the DVD comes out!

Recently a friend of mine gave me something he had written and challenged me "I dare you not to cry at the end." At the time I thought it was a bit of a silly and maybe just a tad presumptuous of a challenge. But I find myself, while thinking about this film, wanting to invoke the same challenge (goes to show me I guess). And the thing is not that this film is so sad or heartbreaking at the end that you can't help but weep. Quite the contrary. Though of course it has it's sad and really heartbreaking elements, for me "My Run" really turned out to be a story about hope, about human challenges, and about how we can really achieve almost the most impossible things just by making committing our minds and mostly our hearts to it. Maybe I weeped at the end because it put my daily excuses of why I can't do this or that to shame. Of course i am kidding. But, I did weep at the end, and most unexpectedly, and mostly because I had just seen one of the most touching stories I had seen in a long time about the resilience and strength of the human heart. So I don't mean to be lugubrious in my words. But the point I am trying to make, in case i haven't said it many times over :-), is that I loved this film. And if you ever get the chance to see it...do!!!(for confidentiality purposes and to protect the innocent, I won't stay weather I did cry at the end of my friends project :-)... Cheers

Just caught this film at the 2009 Austin Film Festival for it's World Premiere. Audience gave a standing ovation to the filmmakers as well as Terry Hitchcock who was in attendance. Catch MY RUN when it comes to a theater near you - this is a wonderful uplifting film that will touch the heart and soul of anyone that sees it! This film has multiple messages throughout. One is that if someone operates out of faith and not fear, they will persevere - no exception, they will manifest the dream and success and do it as Terry Hitchcock so courageously did - one step at a time!! It will inspire and delight all and leave you feeling filled with hope and promise for better days ahead! You will be thinking about this documentary long after you leave the theater.
