Wow! Such a good movie.
... View MoreGood start, but then it gets ruined
... View MoreExcellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
... View MoreLet me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
... View MoreSaying that this movie resembles Braindead, is exaggerating... "Mangue Negro" is a low budget Brazilian movie, with non-professional actors, with some flaws...but it's enjoyable...The zombie characterization is very disgusting, in a good way...the blood scenes are very well planned...and the movie only slows down in the beginning...but after the first zombie appearance the movie continues very well paced...I enjoyed it...and I think many of you will too.But keep in mind, that if you are going to see it because you've read that this is like Braindead you will be disappointed...but if you see it for what it is, a very entertaining zombie flick, you will enjoy it very much...
... View MoreI saw this movie based on the couple of reviews I saw here. All telling there's gore like in Braindead. For you gore hounds out there, just skip this one, as there's like 2 or 3 good scenes AND THATS ALL!Probably the movie makers themselves wrote this, to get more to buy this sorry excuse for a Gorefilm, actually I fast forwarded the last 20 mins of the film because it was so boring. They could easily have cut the film down to 20 mins, cause 1 hour 45 mins is WAYYY too long for this.2 stars out of ten.And thats FINAL!
... View MoreIn a polluted mangrove swamp, the locals recall the time when they could fish and catch mud crabs to sell and feed their families and themselves in their isolated community; now the swamp is dead and they can hardly find a fish or a crab in the dirty water. During a night, dead bodies raise from the swamp, attacking and biting the dwellers that transform into aggressive zombies. The local Luís (Walderrama dos Santos) fights against the monsters to survive and save the life of Raquel (Kika de Oliveira), on whom he has a crush. The Brazilian"Mangue Negro" is a trash movie so gore that recalls Peter Jackson's "Braindead". The story is very simple, but the make-up and effects are surprisingly great and the hero uses a hatchet to get rid of the creatures that threatens his and his beloved lives in a bloodbath in the level of "Braindead". His romantic declaration to Raquel is hilarious. My vote is eight.Title (Brazil): "Mangue Negro" ("Black Mangrove Swamp")
