Monday Trailers

The 50+ time award-winning short film, MONDAY, follows a day in the life of a young hustler who ‘code-switches’ through disparate cliques while being everyone's one-stop-shop for all things illicit. His reasons for the hustle aren’t apparent, but as he maneuvers through his neighborhood, he’ll confront racism as well as question the morality of his occupation.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Finally a true and accurate representation of Los Angeles and all its colors and cultures! And what a debut! Wow. This short had more heart than most feature length movies out there. It's simple: Monday has the SOUL of L.A. It was authentic and not some Hollywood product. Dinh is a talented filmmaker and writer. This one reminded me of yet another Asian filmmaker that I knew would blow up when I first saw his short film, "Victoria Para Chino" -- Cary Fukunaga. The talent is there and honestly, we need more Asian storytellers. Period. But I do have one complaint amongst all these accolades,... I wanted MORE Monday! Ha! It needs to be a feature. Plain and simple. Or a series. Wink, wink. This one needs to be seen by EVERYONE. It's a wonderful narrative about family, friends, mischief, and trouble around the corner. But most importantly, it's an L.A. story and the city itself is as important as any character in the film.
