Sorry, this movie sucks
... View MorePretty Good
... View MoreThe plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
... View MoreA terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
... View MoreI was really looking forward to this movie. Javier and Penelope's acting raised the whole atmosphere of the movie. I have seen many comments on being not understandable in the original language. I am going to watch it again because I have seen the dubbed version and that was very satisfying.Besides this, when you are focusing on the narrative style of storytelling you are presented a decent movie. Worth to watch ! Waaay better that the rating it got in my opinion.
... View MoreWithout saying much my Wife and I watched this recently and both thought it was a great movie. Though sometimes the broken spanish was hard to make out it didn't take from the story at all. The acting was top notch and the story was intriguing. Definitely worth a watch.
... View MoreNever watched a movie from this side of the story.. but its in English.
... View MoreLoving Pablo has certainly moments of guilty pleasure but leaves an empty feeling when reaching the end. This is the story of the rise and fall of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar. The very clever pairing of Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz as the strongly larger-than-life couple gave this production a shot at the international box office before it will go to smaller screens. Very much action-packed, Loving Pablo marks a turn towards the mainstream for Fernando Leon de Aranoa, the Spanish writer-director best known for social and political dramas. What ends up holding the film down to its level of superficial glitz is being adapted from Vallejo's novel/memoir Loving Pablo, Hating Escobar. The story is told almost on that basis and that's the min limit.
