The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity

The makers of this film were inspired by the town of Trona, California, at the entrance of Death Valley. The location is rather haunting, but little is done with it. The story of two young fiances who come to help the bride-to-be's eccentric ghost hunter uncle is trite and most of the film is depressing rather than scary or suspenseful. The ghosts in the town make very little of an appearance and most of the film is people fleeing from a serial killer in a ghost town. The actors are OK. But the story is tiresome and the ending so dreary, you'll be sorry if you watched until the end.

This was a great thriller. It did not take long for this story to get real creepy. I had fun watching this and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the movie. I enjoyed it so much that I Googled Trona to see if the city really exists. The set designers must of went all out for this one because they made everything seem so old and weathered. The acting was pretty good and the lead actress is very easy on the eyes. I think they cast this movie perfectly! The uncle was super creepy and he kept me wondering what next, what next ?!?! I also jumped a few times in the movie (I wont spoil anything for you) and really enjoyed the ending. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys thrillers, spooky scenes, snakes and hot girls.

Jeff takes his girlfriend Tricia to Lost Lake, a ghost town in the middle of the desert, to find her eccentric occult-hunting Uncle, after she has an ominous dream about him. Once there the three go ghost-hunting to appease the old coot, little realizing the true nature of the town.I would say that the movie was all style and no substance, but that would hardly be true as this film had no style either. It was akin to watching a particularly long and excruciatingly bad episode of Ghost Hunters (but thankfully not in the hand-held faux- documentary style) turned crappy possession film. Furthermore I've seen some bad acting before and this is up amongst the worst in that aspect as well.Where I saw it: Redbox Instant

It angers and saddens me that films like this are still getting made. The filmmakers are criminals as they robbed me of my hard earned cash and wasted 80 minutes of my life! If you make it as far as the credits you will see the hundreds of people that were involved in the making of this terrible film and you will find yourself asking - did not one of these people have the balls to say "look guys, this is total trash, let's just go back to our day jobs or find another film to work on? We shouldn't finish this as it will end up on the shelves of Blockbuster for people to rent and ultimately write bad reviews about on IMDb.com." Didn't anyone have the guts to say this!? Clearly not. Desperation is an evil thing. They should take every copy of this film and throw it in a lake which would be far more entertaining to watch than this 'film'. Save your time and your money and stay away from this rubbish.
