This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Very good these short movies. Telling typical stories from Eastern Europe. Nations living in shadow for tens of years, not known to Europe and to the world. Living among Romanians, Serbs and Hungarians, i recognize in these movies typical characteristics, behaviors, customs. Very touching and sensitive stories. Whether of some characters, whether of their nations. I think the Turkey Girl is the best. Not because i live in Romania. :) but it's the deepest and the most complex. I liked also very much the Bulgarian "The Ritual" and also the Serb "Fabulous Vera". I think these three are excellent. The Hungarian "Shortlasting Silence" one is very dark but meaningful and strong, the Estonian theme-movie i didn't quite understand (maybe someone can help me out) and last but not least, the Bosnian "Birthday" is a very well done and sensitive journalistic approach, a "reportage"-type. I love this movie.

It has been long since I have commented on a movie but in this case I just have to. The movie is actually a collection of short films with very little in common. Just various peeks into the hearts and minds of different people in modern day Eastern Europe. Dealing with very different matters. All were interesting in their own right but for me, one really stood out (the Romanian film), where I would have actually wanted to vote "10" but I couldn't, because most others didn't exceed the grade of "interesting" or "good". All of them still moved me in their own ways, a little bit at a time, but "Turkey Girl" will probably remain in my heart as one of the highlights of the Black Nights Film Festival happening just now in Estonia. On the other hand, I believe other people may find their own favourites. Or none at all.
