It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

Agreed the movie's been picked up from,(1966) Fortune Cookie , but the remake is just as hilarious. There are some genuine laughs here and full marks go to the dialog writing and the actors. "Sanjeev kumar" is just tops ! he takes completely off as the ambulance chasing lawyer and the way he pulls off (or not off) this caper deserves just full marks. The rest of the supporting cast is also good ,"utpal dutt" is a wee shade off but still good, but sanjeev kumar's performance just eclipses everyone else's. Good fun, clean fun ,something that can be watched with the whole family. God why can't they make comedies like these anymore ?

Basu Chatarjee perhaps this time did not find an original plot so he made "The Fortune Cookie" in Hindi. In India Baseball is not popular so Basu Chatarjee replaced that with Hockey and instead of a Blak Male we have a Girl Hockey Player who first hits our hero and than takes care.Farooq Shaikh plays the Photographer (Jack Lemmon). Sanjeev Kumar is his brother-in-law, a shyster lawyer, obviously with no mentionworthy case in his hands. Anit Raaj plays the wife - role of Judi West. For a change "Luther 'Boom Boom' Jackson" - Ron Rich is replaced by a female (she is also romantic lead - Madhavi). Role of Cliff Osmond - Purkey the private detective is played superbly by Utpal Dutt.Movie is Indianised to a large extent and at end Farooq gets Madhavi. I enjoyed this movie (but frankly this was before I saw The "Fortune Cookie" that I enjoyed even more.
