The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

After her boyfriend broke up, Jen decides to go on vacation to Nice with her parents. She promised herself not to deal with any guy during this trip, until she meets Spencer. Spencer is a handsome, charming man who has –according to Jen- something mysterious. He gives her right away butterflies and after a few months, they are a married couple. Everything seems to be completely perfect and it looks like Jen has finally found the love of her life. However, their idyllic marriage turns into a weird nightmare, when all their neighbors and friends try to kill Spencer. He might not have been completely honest with Jen about his previous job as an.. assassin. Despite the fact that he quit his job when he met Jen in France, his former colleagues still want to handle something with him.Robert Luketic is an Australian director of (generally) romantic comedies. Before the movie Killers, he directed a few other films such as Legally Blonde, The Ugly Truth and Monster-in-Law. The movie is made with a wink to the Mr. and Mrs. Smith film, which was a great success. People consider Robert Luketic as a traditional director, whose name doesn't sound very notorious. Katherine Heigl also played the leading role in Luketic's previous movie The Ugly Truth, so they were no strangers to each other. It's the first time Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher had to play lovers, but you could hardly notice. They seemed to have a good connection and you could almost feel the chemistry between them. Heigl is an accurate actress who is used to play in romantic movies. In almost every film, she portrays the incredibly innocent, slightly clumsy girl. Most of her characters are so devoted to their job, that they hardly have a social life next to it. She often plays the 'attractive, polite girl-next-door, who tends to talk just a little bit too much. An example of this role is her character in 27 dresses. Ashton Kutcher has been cast in a series of film roles, like What Happens in Vegas. In Killers, he is represented as a sexy, mysterious, gentle man who is immediately captured by the charms of his antagonist. In one word: a perfect husband. You can see that Kutcher has an excellent timing when it comes to eye contact and facial expressions towards his partner. He and Heigl make a cute couple together. The movie is a combination of an action-comedy story, with a few romantic twists. If you don't know what to do on a cozy Saturday night, I can perfectly recommend you to watch this breezy, entertaining comedy!

This man is responsible for directing the deplorable films, "Monster-in- Law" and "The Ugly Truth." His latest project is "Killers", which could have very possibly murdered his own career. He had it coming. But, if this director pulls through and keeps making more movies as bad as "Killers", or "The Ugly Truth", or "Monster-in-Law", the only title he'll earn is, "The M. Night Shyamalan of Romantic Comedies." May he, for the love of filmmaking, consider my thoughts.Beware of a director named Robert Luketic; he makes really bad movies.Read more here: http://localmoviereview.com/killers-movie-review/

Movie has great idea etc... but total ruin for this movie is awful acting performance by Ashton Kutcher. He usually has funny Comedy movies and they are just fine, but this one... horrible, completely ruins the whole movie. Probably that's what Katherine wasn't relaxed either so her acting was on edge to be awful, but still better performed than Ashton. We don't know of course was such acting asked from them by the Director or whoever, but this is not how movies should be played out.So this is definitely NOT recommended movie to watch, you just feel from the start that something is wrong and it keeps on going and going... and you don't see any progress whatsoever...

A hired government assassin operating in the French Riviera is seen in action as the story begins. Spencer, disguised as a vacationing tourist, gets to meet the beautiful Jennifer, who has come to Nice to accompany her parents. Spencer and Jen meet and it's instant fireworks. Their romance continue back home after their vacation. Are we surprised we end up getting married? Of course not.Three years of marital bliss go by and suddenly everything starts going haywire in their cozy little world. For one, Spencer's past comes to haunt him. He is being sought by his former handler to do another job. When that man in charge, is killed, Spencer realizes he is in trouble. To complicate things, Jen decides to join him as all kinds of friends and neighbors decide they want to kill Spencer."Killers" was probably a different movie that went through changes and revisions. The finished product is a mess, just to say something nice about it. Directed by Robert Luketic, who did much better work before, it just does not make much sense as it plays on the screen. There is not an ounce of credibility in the way the story plays out. Spencer and Jen prove to be protected by a shield where even Uzis and other fire arms do not even scratch, or nip them. One can only hope the destruction of the lovely suburban Georgia was only make believe.Ashton Kutcher as a French speaking hired gun, ridiculous. Katherine Heigl has done much better in other vehicles. The stars do not show much chemistry together and that is perhaps what is the basic problem. Catherine O'Hara plays Jen's mother, a woman that loves her drink and does not even get drunk after all the liquor she pours for herself. Tom Selleck is Jen's father who has to do a lot in the scheme of things.
