... View MoreIf you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
... View MoreThis is one of the worst movies ever. I have promised not to ever watch a movie with Akshay Kumar - such an annoying actor. How can writers write this movie, who pays for such stories and where is the talent of the director who brings the worst? Bollywood has something going for itself globally. Please don't make such movies as it really brings our hopes down. Please do the entire Indian movie fans a favor by not embarrassing us with such bad talent. I do think that this movie is deliberately suggestive to sell more tickets but please then show more and convert these movies in 'blue category'. Director/actor/writer deserve decency training.
... View MorePlease do not hate me for purposing such a high rating. But its just so rare to see a Bollywood movie that actually succeeds in what its trying to present... Bollywood movies simply lack the creativity, concept all but flaws and man I cheesy stunts they put on... they are so not entertaining... so much imitation ( THE REMAKE IDEOLOGY) of Hollywood...Now considering all these facts, I shall rather sum it up in one line. This movie severed its purpose of "PURE ENTERTAINMENT". I walk into the theater to get entertained and I am entertained, now thats all I care about. Except for the fairy tale ending(man i would have been breaking chairs/ going crazy if somebody was to interrupt my wedding not waving good bye with a creepy smile on my face, after they stole my husband to be)and also inviting an all time best actor/writer "Sylvester Stallone" and giving him a cheesy GADAR SUNNY DEOL TYPE OF SHOT wow....
... View MoreI give it a 1 on the scale of 10. If IMDb had negative ratings, I would have chosen -10. It is a typical bollywood crap of a movie showing how desperate bollywood directors, producers and actors are that they would do just about anything to associate themselves with Hollywood. What they don't realize is that there should be a good storyline, good acting skills and some class that would result in making the movie a hit. Just by having Hollywood actors act in a few scenes would not make a horrible movie any better. I heard this happens to be one of the most expensive bollywood productions. I'm sure it would have taken a lot of money to convince Hollywood actors to star in the film. I'd rather watch Hollywood actors in a Hollywood movie rather than in a bollywood movie. The stunts were unimpressive and not really required. I know Akshay was playing a stuntman but there was no need to have all the expensive sets and stunts in the movie, stunts on a smaller scale would have done the job. The story as I mentioned earlier was a waste and the acting just made me feel agitated. I couldn't help rolling my eyes through out. By the way, I couldn't wait for the movie to finish to write my comments here. For people who are into cheap, low class comedy or who are big Akshay and Kareena fans might like this a lot. For me, it was a waste of time. I wonder what all the good Indians actors and directors are doing these days. Maybe making money in buying cricket teams. Oh and the character of Kareena comes from greys anatomy's Izzie Stevens character, a girl from a middle class family trying to make money from a little modelling prior to getting into med school in an attempt to fulfil her dream of becoming a doctor. Unlike Kareena, she wasn't all dolled up and expensively dressed. I think they've shot scenes in the same hospital set grey's anatomy is shot in.One last thing, the real English translation of 'kambakht' is not 'incredible', it's 'pathetic' and thats exactly what this movie is...simply kambakht.
... View MoreFirst of all, this movie is a romantic comedy. As such, it really only needs two ingredients to work, obviously comedy and romance. The first half is entertaining and full of laughs. The humor is crude, sexual, and sometimes vulgar, but it's not delivered in a cheap way. This movie is NOT intended for the traditional Bollywood audience. There is no shying away from kissing and showing of skin. The movie takes place mostly in Los Angeles, so there's a very western feel to it. Kareena looks great. Akshaye looks good as usual. I think the two work well together in this movie. As for the plot, it's predictable. It begins as a "battle of the sexes", so to speak, which eventually gives way to a love story between Kareena and Akshaye in the second half. However unoriginal and disappointing this may seem, this really isn't very different from any other Bollywood movie. In closing, the film is visually appealing (ie. everyone looks good and is dressed well) and the music is relatively catchy. The movie is not ground breaking, but I think it's definitely a nice change of pace, if not risky by bollywood standards. If you are not uncomfortable with a liberal sense of humor and you are looking for a good laugh, I would recommend this movie.
